⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ *This place is an absolute gem! The food is simply outstanding—every dish is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. From the appetizers to the desserts, you can taste the quality and care that goes into each bite. But what really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It's warm, inviting, and has such a wonderful vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy your time there. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you're looking for amazing food and a great place to dine, this is it. I can't recommend it enough!
Tried this place for the first time and it was good but not as good as I expected. Service is really good, staff is very friendly but the food itself had its flaws. The ribs I ordered were super tender BUT they need better BBQ flavor. You taste more the charr of the meat than the BBQ sauce. Also the dinner roll was super dry and hard almost stale like. Fries also could be better. They are very generic and simple. No seasoning just plain fries nothing special about them. They sell other items like chicken and pizza but ribs being their prime item, left a lot to be desired. 7 out of 10 for me.
Love the Variety of entrees and very reasonable prices & respect to this lincoln park mainstay. I recently had the Hawaiian fried chicken and I was blown away! Mega good. They even have frog legs! Lol you get 2 meals worth of food on combos and can get so many options in your meals. Great on the pocket and tummy.. I can't speak for their pizza but I've had almost everything else.

My friend and I went here on a late Sunday afternoon and there was a steady stream of foot-traffic coming in for order and pick-up. It only offers take-out and delivery, no inside seating. The menu is quite extensive with a good selection of BBQ chicken, fried chicken, BBQ ribs, fish, frog legs, and pizza. Each of us had combination plates, both with ribs and then one with fried chicken and one with bbq chicken. The combination plates come with fries, coleslaw, and a roll. Prices were relatively reasonable, about $16.50 per meal. The dinners came with four very meaty ribs, along with 1/4 chicken (half breast, wing, thigh, and leg). The ribs were the star of the show, falling off the bone tender and very flavorful. The chicken was good. The fries come tucked away underneath the slab or ribs and chicken, and ended up being a bit soggy by the time I got to them. The slaw was pretty standard. Overall, a very good value, excellent quantity, friendly/fast service, and very tasty.
I got a combo meal for my first time there because they were frying chicken and it looked good and they were making bug pans of it for orders so I assumed that it must be good
So I got the rib fish chicken shrimp combo
The ribs were meaty and delicious except they still had the membrane skin
on them the sauce was zesty
the fish was ok thick pre battered coating just frozen perch
the shrimp was ok frozen butterfly shrimp with pre breaded coating
The roll the fries and coleslaw were good
So overall I would try it again but only get ribs!! Oh the menu is full of things to try so since I love pizza I might try that
It's been about 20 years since I've been here. Finally gave it a shot again and the short ribs were awesome ... lasagna was good too....hidden place you always forget about but was still really good ???? Cole slaw wasn't so good though ...but definitely a 10/10 on bbq
The phone lines were out so we had to drive to the restaurant to order but didn't take longer than 15 minutes to get food. Almost passed the building up because the huge Zukin Rub Shack restaurant sign that was on top of the building is no longer there. I got the spaghetti, with what is suppose to be meat sauce and meatballs. Not enough sauce to cover the noodles and it was meatless, could use a little more seasonings also. My husband got the smorgasbord, no enough of barbecue sauce. Come on Zukin can we get a little more sauce on Everything.... Are you running short????????♀️
