At 10:32 PM last night I checked for appointments at my closest Zoom clinic because I had a sore throat. I was in the door being seen by my provider at the Alberta location by 11:15 PM. Rapid test was positive for strep and I had antibiotics in hand less than an hour from when I noticed my first symptoms. The team here is great and I feel very fortunate for urgent care that’s available at late hours.
I’ve had great experiences with ZoomCare in the past, but this location is an infuriating MESS. I made an appointment yesterday for very late last night (because it was the only time slot available) and they called me telling me to call back as soon as I could but didn’t say why. I answered while they were in the process of leaving that message and they hung up, then I called back repeatedly for hours and left voicemails and they never responded or returned my calls. Finally, I went in person and asked them why they had called, they said they had an earlier appointment to offer me (which would have been GREAT) but that it was now too late. Lovely.
Finally did my appointment and had a bunch of labs done. The front desk person forgot to charge me for the appointment and forgot to give me the take home kit for a test I had to do at home, so she called me and I had to turn around to get it and to pay (at 12:30am). This same person was the one who drew my blood for other tests. She now has called me again and told me that she forgot to label the vials of blood she took so I would have to come back and redo the blood draw. I’ve missed an entire day of work now to this garbage, and I still have no test results to help inform a prescription. While ZoomCare is often great, I absolutely DO NOT recommend this ZoomCare location. Get your act together.
I booked my appointment four hours ago. They just canceled my appointment an hour before because the DR called out. Now I can’t see someone for another day and in the meantime am having serious discomfort due to the missed appointment. Don’t cancel on patients an hour before an appointment. Terrible experience. I could’ve gone to a different doctor today but instead I have to be in pain and wait until another appointment.
This is my go to for minor injuries or illness. My primary care provider is often booked 6-8 weeks out so it's very helpful to have this option available. I can always find same day appointments and it's easy to book online. Service is fast and friendly. I am healthier because of zoomcare. I would typically put off going into a dr due to the hassle and limited availability but zoomcare makes it easy to take care of my body. I've only been to the alberta location due to convenience and I love it. Highly recommend.
I never look forward to going to urgent care, but I recently had an amazing experience thanks to Crystal, FNP. Crystal was extremely knowledgeable and provided me with a clear action plan so I left feeling confident and prepared to take care of myself. The other staff present that day were just as great. Thanks to everyone who helped me -- I highly recommend Alberta Zoomcare!
Online appointment schedule said all spots were booked. I went through the automated phone prompts for the 1888 number. Spoke to a person who confirmed most locations closed at 5pm today. Not sure if thats a usual thing, but definitely beware that google says 12am, but it might be 5pm. I submitted an edit just now for Saturday.
Great for a quick visit on a specific topic.
HOWEVER
They are currently marketing a Family Practice available through ZoomCare and this is not fully true. There are only 2 MD’s available (anywhere in PDX). No other ZoomCare professional can offer full service, including some prescriptions. You’ll still need a general doctor elsewhere. I had to make 3 visits to get a prescription filled. You can only talk about one topic per visit.
Poorly informed of what is effective treatment and the expenses of treatment (until after treatment was given).
Went in for a simple plantar wart. Provider Michael Oschwald said one quick treatment of nitrogen freeze would take care of it and that he could do it during that visit.
Got $250 charge on my way out, just for him using a nitrogen spray you can buy for $20 at the store and easily do yourself.
Wart didn't improve at all and found out weeks later from my PCP that treatment often takes months of daily self-admined treatment.
