Id heard alot about this place over the years and I'm just now making. Service was good the cashier was very helpful.
The atmosphere is what you expect for a nice down home barbecue place not alot of flash and extras but everything was clean and tidy.
The food was cooked to perfection. Everything nice and juicy. Great smoke flavor. We tried the 4 meat sampler which is ribs ,pulled pork, pulled chicken, and sausage. The sides we got were Brunswick stew, Coleslaw, and potato salad.
The Brunswick stew was the star of the show it was fantastic, the potato salad was good, the coleslaw really wasn't to our taste. It had alot of dill in it I believe.
The meats needed the sauces for flavor I like for sauce to be an option. Overall nothing was bad.
VERY unimpressive. The 2 meet combo (chicken and pulled pork) was pretty much flavorless. It was tender enough but also a dry. The cornbread, which I paid extra for, was absolutely, hands down, the worst cornbread I’ve ever had. It was the consistency of a semi cooked brownie, thick and cake like. It was way more like corn pudding, but WAY less tasty. The sauces were generic run of the mill with the mustard based being basically diluted yellow mustard. The macaroni and cheese was middle of the road. Not cheesy, just cheese colored, and fairly flavorless. The baked beans were also nothing special. The food gets two stars only because it wasn’t overpriced. It certainly wasn’t worth what I paid, but it wasn’t insultingly priced either. I go to this area of Ga a lot and definitely won’t be back.
I’ve past by this place more times than I can count. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon around 3:30pm and they had a few people but wasn’t to busy at all. I wanted to try a little of all the meats so I got the 4 meat plate with 2 sides. Everything was absolutely delicious!! None of the meats needed any sauce but if you wanted some sauce, they had 3 different types on the tables. I’m a spicy person so I tried their hot one and I have to admit, it hit the spot. Everything had great flavor and the portion size was good as well. The staff was extremely nice and they kept the place really clean. This place even serves frozen meals that you can choose from in a freezer in the far right corner of the restaurant. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy BBQ!
The best bbq in Columbus! We tried all four meats (pulled pork, sausage, pulled chicken, and ribs), mac & cheese, and the banana cream pie. Everything was delicious, smoked perfectly, and the three sauces were all great (mustard, regular, and spicy). Colin and Nicole were lovely, and the restaurant was very clean. They also have a fridge/freezer of prepared foods for takeout (meats, lasagna, casseroles, sides) - so cool!
I enjoyed the food. Didn't get a chance to get a brisket since they were sold out. The "spicy" sauce had a good flavor to it. The atmosphere was very friendly and laid back. One of the owners was here working and he really makes the effort to make you feel at home. The BBQ was good but it didn't scream to me that it was out of this world. I will still come back here and hopefully next time catch some of that brisket. Great job on the food guys.
You hope you’re in a a good bbq place when the Smokey odor greets you at the door. We were not disappointed! We had the pork plate and 2 sides and a drink. The pulled pork was delicious with a slight Smokey flavor. The Mac and cheese was cheesy and great flavor. You know the Brunswick Stew is good when it brings tears to your eyes and makes your nose run. Just the right amount of spice. We topped off our meal with peach cobbler. Will definitely return! Thank you. While you may be safe from zombies- the pigs better watch out! The price is very reasonable.
Food was pretty uninspired- however the potato salad was really why I felt compelled to write the review. I have no idea who was making it, but I’m pretty sure they forgot to cook the potatoes. It was just cubed up red potatoes with maybe some Italian dressing on top. It was so bad, we laughed about it for days. BBQ was dry, felt a little old, no flavor. Mac and cheese was pretty basic. Sweet tea was pretty good, service was fine.
Pros - The prices were really good for how much food you get. The pictures below cost around 15 dollars with water to drink. Also the sausage and pulled pork had a nice seasoning to them that made them stand out.
Cons - The ribs were the thing I was most excited for and are usually my go to at BBQ places. They were good... Just not great. They were tender and juicy, but the flavor itself seemed almost like there was no seasoning on the outside. I do tend to like Texas BBQ more so that could make me bias.
Overall I would recommend coming here and I will most likely come again if I'm in the area.
