Café Zoka in Kirkland is a must-visit for coffee lovers. Whether you're into rich, smooth espressos or perfectly brewed pour-overs, there’s something on the menu for you… This visit, I had a delicious cardamom latte and an almond croissant. ???? ☕️
In addition to coffee and pastries, they have fun extras like Pike Street Press (letter-pressed) cards, vinyl stickers, and other small gifts for the impulse buyer. ????
They also sell a selection of whole bean coffee so you can bring your favorite blend home with you.
I love the big windows, high ceilings, spacious interior, and plant wall… The cozy vibe and friendly staff make it the perfect spot to grab a drink, work, or just relax.
(Note: parking anywhere in downtown Kirkland can be a challenge…)
Lavender latte is amazing!!! Staff is very gentle and friendly. Perfect for coffee and cake. Definitely recommend it, nice and full of art too.
Love the coffee here! The baristas are so nice, and friendly. They are quick to remember your favorite order. The croissants warmed up are sooooo tasty too!
Food is Okay, with fair price. Service is great. Friendly. Very big place. A lot of tables to chat or work on your own stuff. But the music can be a bit too loud if you are looking for a more mellow place to chill. Hard to park. But that applied to all nearby stores.
There are many coffee places in the Seattle area. Most are mediocre. A lot are bad (looking at you "Char"bucks). Zoka is among the very few outstanding coffee places and I recommend them without hesitation.
They roast their own. I know back in the day they used to roast at their Greenlake location and the cafe there smelled wonderful during the day when they did. I like to grab a bag of beans when I stop by.
I don't typically order espresso drinks, but when visiting a Zoka cafe at times I'll order a lavender mocha. It's not sugary sweet with just the right amount of lavender flavor & dark cocoa.
If you've never had Zoka I recommend that you stop in and give it a try.
The coffee is good (I had a soy latte), but I think I'd order to go next time. When I went around 9am it was absolutely packed, everyone on laptops and the sound was echoing and so loud I didn't hear my coffee called. Not a bad spot to get coffee, just not a hang out spot.
Zora seems like a beautiful spot to stop in and grab a coffee. But..
Pros:
The location is stunning.
Cons:
The noise level was quite high for a workspace. People often shout to be heard by the person next to them, and even the staff have to ask customers to speak up because they can’t hear them.
The staff seem miserable and give exasperated responses to any questions. I understand it's a busy Saturday, but the experience was far from pleasant.
When I asked if syrup had been added to my drink, the response was defensive, saying it was house syrup, so it’s not as sweet as I might expect elsewhere.
The coffee is mediocre—not the worst, but not worth putting up with the other downsides of visiting this location.
