This was our second experience at this location. We walked in at lunchtime, and we're immediately seated. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The decor is very nice and decorative for the foods origins. The food, however, was good but not good in an exciting way. In fact, I needed to add something to one of my items because it was bland and dry. I had an enchilada, a burrito, and a gordita. The Burrito was no larger than the enchilada, which led me to believe my order was wrong. I will give it another try. The salsa and chips were amazing.
On Saturday afternoon, it was completely empty, and our 35-minute wait ended with undercooked food. The waiter claimed she'd talk to the kitchen but disappeared without checking on us or offering to recook the bacon and shrimp. I'm done with this place. Wilmington, luckily, has numerous Mexican options. I'm usually the one recommending restaurants, but I will never recommend this to anyone.
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Excellent food and drinks, the service was very friendly and polite, and we loved the live music. I, myself had the carne asada street tacos. They were so delicious! And those handmade tortillas are to die for! For my cocktail, I had the Zocalo Fish Bowl. Absolutely stunning drink and full of flavor. Beware, this drink is not for the faint of heart! My mom had the chimichanga with shredded beef, which she could not stop raving about. Along with her meal, she enjoyed their Smoky Paloma cocktail. Beautiful drink and very tasty. WE WILL BE BACK.
Food has never disappointed!!! Drinks are amazing! Some servers are slow and won't do more than one thing at a time, but it is my favorite place around!!
I have recently eaten at zocalo twice, and the food and drinks were great both times. I especially recommend the kiwi margarita. It is soooo tasty! This is a solid spot, and I will be back!
My first time here and I was impressed. The service is fantastic from the hostess to the bartender and the servers. Across the board excellent service. The food was good, I look forward to trying other items. But I might also just do chips and dips, they were pretty fabulous.
My fiance and I stopped in here to grab a quick bite while we were in town visiting family. We both really enjoy Mexican fare a lot, but the regular American stuff doesn't usually work as well for me since they have very little in the vegetarian and glutem free persuasion. Plus, we both love some homemade tortillas and heard that they made them in front of you here.
We both really enjoyed our dishes and our drinks and the prices were pretty good for the portion sizes as well. The server was fantastic and the atmosphere was more modern chic, which we both liked.
Overall, a great experience and if we're ever back that direction we'll definitely be back.
This restaurant is a new favorite. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious! They sang happy birthday to my friend, in Spanish, and gave him a free slice of cheesecake when I took him there to celebrate. I was not thrilled to go the first time because, when I looked on the menu online, I didn't see many vegetarian options. When I asked the waiter, though, it turned out that they were willing to make most items with vegetables instead of meat. Their Zocalo vegetable enchiladas were wonderful! I wasn't as big a fan of their mole enchiladas which I tried the next time. My friends loved the Baja fish tacos and quesadillas.
