Best WLM Reviews

I visited Zippy's today in Vegas and tried the Vegas PAC, which came with Korean fried chicken (KFC), fried chicken, chili, spam, mac salad, and rice. The fried chicken was super crispy, but I found it a bit bland. It was good, but I was hoping for a little more seasoning to really make it stand out. The Korean fried chicken had a nice flavor, but I feel like they could kick it up a notch to really elevate it.
We also tried the Portuguese sausage I share which was just okay, and the grilled cornbread, which was decent but nothing to rave about. I wouldn't get it again. For dessert we got a slice of the banana cream pie. I thought it was good with fresh banana slices and a chocolate crust underneath added a nice touch.
Overall, I'm glad I got to experience Zippy's, especially since it's such an iconic spot from Hawaii.
Even though I’m still thousands of miles away from home, I’m able to have a little taste every time I visit Zippy’s in Las Vegas. Food and service have been top notch every time I come here and I always look forward to my next trip. Menu is just like home, and I always get excited when they add new specials to the menu.
For a taste of home in the islands, nothing beats Zippy's. My favorite is the spaghetti w/garlic toast. The longtime restaurant has expanded its menu a lot since I grew up in Hawaii, back in the '80s, to include fried noodles, Korean fried chicken, & malasadas. Coming back to load up on the famous Zippy's chili & Zip Pac.
Pro tip: get chili w/your eggs, Portuguese sausage, & rice.
Special mahalo to our server who allowed me to have both spaghetti & fried noodles in smaller keiki (child) plates. She made our visit a warm welcome.
We made the seven+-hr. drive down from Twin Falls, ID just for this place, & for my 60th birthday.
WE HAVE A ZIPPY'S ON THE MAINLAND!!!!!!!!!!
This restaurant has fantastic service! Drinks and food orders are taken fairly quickly and served within a decent time (and I'm talking about when the place is packed!). Taste is very similar to Hawaii's restaurants.
I've had so many delicious meals here.
Surf Pac delux 10/10
Loco moco 10/10
Saimin 10/10
Corned beef breakfast 10/10
Chili - both beans or no bean option available 10/10
Haupia cake 10/10
Chantilli cream puff 100/10 - One of the best desserts I've EVER had!
Something I would recommend, if you order a drink with your meal, you should just make your order a combo because for a couple dollars more than the drink plus plate, your plate comes with a soup, bread, drink and dessert.
There's a lot of seating inside, so wait times have been pretty good. I just found out that there's an outdoor eating area as well.
From service in restaurant or to go, everyone has always been friendly. I usually stop by when I leave for LA and get a breakfast bento (which is only to go) and it's a great meal for only $8-ish.
If you're planning on visiting the area around Thanksgiving 2024, I posted their ads.
The cousins and I were craving our Zippy’s fix, we were thrilled to discover that they’ve finally opened a location on the 9th Island! For me, Zippy’s is more than just a restaurant; it's a nostalgic experience that brings back cherished memories from my childhood in Hawaii. My aunt would always bring home their delicious chili or spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread, and dining out with my parents, grandparents or cousins meant enjoying the zip pack or saimin. As I got older, my go-to orders became oxtail and fried chicken with chili and rice. Zippy’s holds a special place in my heart.
While this new location is still in its early days, and I understand that the staff are still in training, I found that the service could be a bit quicker. However, this minor hiccup doesn’t detract from my overall experience or enthusiasm for Zippy’s. The ambiance shows the Hawaiian spirit!
This is the first restaurant I want to visit every time I return to Hawaii, and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to check it out! You won’t be disappointed!
We went in on a Wednesday around 1pm and they were not busy at all so weekday afternoons may be a good choice.
We were seated and served quickly and everyone was friendly and attentive.
We got the chicken plate and terriaki plate. Chicken plate had one piece of fried chicken and about 8 boneless Korean fried chicken pieces. They were all thigh and pretty good. The third chicken was chicken katsu and it was so juicy and perfectly breaded and cooked. Definitely the highlight. The rice and Mac salad was just average.
The beef teriyaki plate was. BOMB! Absolutely delicious, you could taste the "grill" and I highly recommend this plate.
Each plate was $18.
We also added the $11 combo that comes with a fountain drink (we chose Lilikoi which is soooo yummy!), a Hawaiian roll, a bowl of Portuguese bean soup (which was very good!), and a slice of cake.
I love Chantilly cake. I was very excited to have a slice at Zippy's. Sadly, it was just okay. The icing was fine but the cake itself was a bit dry and the moist cake is really what I dream of.
Worth the hype? Not for us. But not bad. The issue is that the food is good but not amazing. There are so many local Hawaiian spots in town that are far superior, and the money goes to small business owners. I recommend Pacific Island Taste or Lefty J's because I have been there and it is excellent! I am sure there are many other local spots that provide amazing Hawaiian food from scratch. I think spots like these are just so much more fun than a chain restaurant.
However, trying this spot was a nice meal and worth a try. Why not try everything out? That's how we feel!
1st time visiting and the food was great. I got the recommended meal by our very friendly server the monthly speacial "VEGAS PAC". It's almost a complete meal (missing a dessert) that will keep you full for the rest of the day. The atmosphere is very inviting and will.make your stay worth it while you enjoy your delicious food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They will make you feel like you are home.
Quality of the food and service is just as good as home. Everything about Vegas Zippy’s is consistent as if you were eating in Hawai’i. Can’t go wrong here.
