Best WLM Reviews
Zippys is a great place to eat at, ive never been disappointed with any meal they have. They have a huge selection of plates to choose from and breakfast to lunch/dinner. Waiters are nice and friendly. The food usually come out quick. Me and my family love going there ???? also a great dessert is the brownie delight with nuts and caramel
Where to start, after my doctor's app. I head over to Zippy's for my flaky! In a good mood took pictures of the surrounding area for at 1 time? These huge trees, we used to climb up with the limbs so wide you could run on it ????! Unsure why ????? I got the bread pudding and on my way to get home. Heading to the bus stop which is Not to comfortable for seniors! I noticed a man talking to himself in he's underwear? The came in time for Me, this stop is right there across from the Mililani mortuary on the corner. Look for the review. Us girls, sisters, cousins and our children listened about the bread pudding and the bus driver, with the compliment of their wives stories when we lived behind the hospital, before the freeway. That day I gave the driver my desert. Elderly sister who I have told about the area there was more interested in the fact I brought it, No flaky!? But, to hear that it went to a driver,it turned out to be a conversation that has lasted for a few days now. We baking, cooking, large pots of food, to old. Where we used to get it from,Nana she is at rest. So family members asked " so where "? Zippy's " how was it "? Ono., enough I said. I've changed my bus stop and it's right outside of the church going up to Nu'uanu. Before I went there I got the last bread pudding and gave it to the first lady driver on this route. Told her " there's a story about this" and I got off. I took a few photos of the surrounding area but it's a photo that I found to be my favorite. Turned to leave but I glanced back around although small I see the name... Zippy's. Somethings hasn't changed.
Awesome spot to satisfy your local taste buds. Service was definitely efficient and quick here. Restaurant was busy but line moved quickly. Had the saimin and a side scoop of their macaroni salad. Daily specials looks really delicious as well. And the desserts...what can I say, you have to try the apple napple.
The food was good, but there's construction at the vineyard location making it unpleasant, plus their air conditioning was out in the main sit-down area. All of this I'm sure is temporary and I wouldn't judge food by it.
When visiting from the U.S. Mainland, I usually visit this Zippy's location because it's close & convenient to where my relatives live. Service is usually fast & efficient, the restaurant is reasonably clean, and the menu selection and quality are excellent. As a creature of habit, I usually order the Korean Fried Chicken plate ($17.65, Sept. 2023). A somewhat healthier version is the Korean Chicken Salad ($16.45). And we usually check out the bakery selection (Napoleon's Bakery) for something sweet to take home.
I asked for tap water and they charged me 75 cents and then refused a refill of tap water saying, “No refills!!!” (So generous!!! I wonder what they’d do to to their enemies?) Chicken Katsu curry special over $16…good quantity, tasty (greasy)… followed by massive MSG attack later. Entrees generally north and south of $20 for food that cost $8.99 just a couple of years ago.
Tonight me and my family decided to dine in at Zippys Vineyard . I’m actually writing this review because of the food I was served. I ordered a Korean Chicken Breakfast Plate and when I saw my plate I had three tiny pieces of chicken. The rice was flat on the plate instead of scooped. There was so much green onions all over the plate. When I tasted the rice, it was wet and mushy. Usually I always love to dine in at Zippys Mililani because they have great service and hot, delicious food but I wasn’t expecting this.
I ordered grilled cornbread as well & It tasted like it was sitting out for a long time. It tasted very dry and cold. The thing is I love Zippys but overall the food did not taste hot and fresh and for the increase of pricing, I paid $15.00 for this plate and it only came with three tiny pieces of chicken and two pieces of bacon. The service was okay.
Especially for the increase of prices, I really just wanted my food to be hot and the portions decent for the price I’m paying. If I could give any feedback, please don’t serve your customers with cold food and I also advise anyone who dines in not to drink the water because it is extremely tap and a lemon wedge does not mask the tap flavor. I totally understand maybe the chefs working there wanted to go home but all my food was cold and the portions of food I got did not equal for the price I paid for.
Great Hawaiian comfort food at a reasonable price. I’m never disappointed when I come here. The service is good and the food ales me happy. I love the Korean fried chicken plate. It scones with rice and one side. I usually opt for a side salad. The chicken is perfectly crispy and has just the right amount of sauce. Like other Zippy’s locations the service is friendly and efficient.
