My 1st experience at Zippys. It's not my thing. Maybe in my mind, I had it all hyped up. I had the Loco moco mini. The patty was a frozen store bought pre made patty, the gravy and rice were ok. I think the only thing I liked in the entire bowl was the egg. I had to season the entire bowl. Let me just say I'm not some food snob and only eat at high-end places. I'm pretty content with Ala Moana food court food as well.
Good casual Hawaiian fare. Essentially a Hawaiian version of a east coast diner, where everything you can think of is available to order. From noodle soups, burgers, local Hawaiian, pastries and even spaghetti bolognese, they have it all. I pretty much made sure I kept it local, I just missed out on the moco loco, next time tho. All in all it was delicious food and it didn’t break the bank either. They even had a solid version of an orange Julius which I haven’t had in years. ????
Decided to try this Hawaiian chain since it has existed for so long. The food was ok but was more expensive than I thought, big quantity though. Had pork katsu, the zip pac, surf pac and the fried chicken.
Was just trying to eat my Zippys Haupia cake and seen something black in the cake. Under more inspection I seen it was a fly. Maybe don’t get this locations cakes
Located in the 2nd floor. There is a sushi bar at this location. Good spot and what you’d expect from Zippys.
There’s plenty of parking and the bathrooms are a good size in terms of capacity.
Would definitely recommend this. Unsure as to why it’s only ever locals here! Food was amazing, service is good, nice sized parking area. Perfect spot to have lunch, better for lunch than dinner.
