Go ANYWHERE else and you’ll have a better experience. $10 fee to exchange currency and randomly they will exchange it for you and then the next week they won’t exchange it back. All with no explanation. Ridiculous. Better to give your money to a street beggar. Euro/Swedish Kronos/etc.
Friendly service, tellers greet the customers with a smile. Nice clean lobby. This branch is located next to the Macy's in City Creek Mall, and right across the street of Joseph Smith Memorial Building
While walking to the management office to pay rent for November I had the check fall out of my pocket.
I called Zion's Bank several times and their automated system would not recognize my pressing 1 for a personal account, so that I could get something done about this.
I finally got Megan on the phone on my 6th attempt. (I tried the Zions website and there was no option for this)
She told me they needed to freeze my entire account. I told her that won't be happening. Zions's is not going to prevent me from buying food for my children or prevent me from paying rent.
Then she was willing to stop payment on the single check. (Good) I made sure she was aware that the NEXT check was for the same amount, because my entire purpose is to pay rent.
Then she told me they wanted to charge me $25 to block the check.
(Gee, if someone tried to fraudulently use the check and I reported it after the fact, they would be forced to remunerate my funds to me. Why am I even informing them then??? Why is Zion's Bank so fee-happy???)
Then she read me a litany of legal gobbledygook, claiming that Zions Bank isn't responsible if they let the check through, even after they have been duly notified and take a fee to stop payment. (Any attorney can tell you that claims like this often have almost no force at all. ZFNB is seriously making itself look stupid by acting this way about it though)
At this point, Zions Bank seems far less than competent. Maybe it's time to look for somebody else to keep my money with.
One star is far too many. After looking up which Zions Bank branches do foreign currency exchange I picked the one closest to my errand route. Unfortunately I was told by the teller that they were out of the currency and directed me to another branch that was sure to have it - easy enough. Upon arriving at that branch I was told yet again that they are out and was directed to yet another. While on the way there I attempted to call to make sure they had it available. I got directed to a call center, not the branch, and spoke to a VERY nice lady who was doing her best to help, but could not find any information and could not contact the branch I was headed to. I asked her to verify they did currency exchange - she said yes. I decided to just head there and hope. After dragging my 4 year old to multiple different banks I walked in the door of the downtown main branch at 4:40pm. I walked to the nearest teller and asked about foreign currency exchange and was told that it closed at 4:30. I explained what had just happened with the other branches and did not even get so much as a blink of an apology. I really wish I had got the girl’s name because although my experience as a whole was awful, her customer service skills (or total, utter lack-there-of) somehow managed to be the worst part of it all.
Branch on lake mead and Rainbow (las vegas) very bad. I called to find out when deposit Will be available because NSB costumer services told me funds will be ready today and branch employee Nancy told me funds Will be available in 8 days and when asking why costumer services told me funds Will be ready today she told me Call back to costumer services and ask to the person to told you funds Will be ready on tuesday why daid that. ????????
Costumer services and branches are not connected. Very Bad. As soon I can I sill change to another bank
I opened the bank account today. The customer service was great! Explanation about fees, etc. was very detailed, and helped me with creating my own password, etc, the service was above and beyond. Thank you so much, Charity, for making me feel like a valued customer, and walking me to the currency exchange service desk!!
I went to this Zions bank to exchange $100 for Canadian dollars. The bank was empty, but the cashier asked me to wait until she finished chatting with her co-worker; I was not happy, but I waited. After she finished the chat, I asked her about the money exchange, and she wanted me to pay a $10 fee to exchange $100, seriously, a 10% fee. I told her I could get it from the airport for less fee, and she said the airport does not have Canadian dollars. She was kind of rude. I left, and it was my first and last time dealing with this bank. I always wonder why I never hear anyone recommends Zions bank, but now I know the answer.
We’ve been a business account customer for over 3 years and Zions Bank is on strike 2 of 3.
Strike one, they messed up processing my personal loan payments from the loan we used to open the business. They came at us with fines and late fees. We had to spend hours showing them documents and statements that payments were actually made on time, funded, but processed/allocated improperly by the bank. Crazy how they can’t process payments properly from one Zion account to another!
Strike two, on 4-29-20 we purchased supplies from Lowe’s using our business debit card but never received the goods. On 5-1-20 we were charged by Lowe’s. On 5-14-20 we disputed the charge and got an email response saying it would be reviewed within 10 days. Upon reviewing my account on 6-24-20 I noticed we’d still not been refunded. Upon calling Zions bank I was informed they tried to call once for more information and had closed my dispute earlier that day. They didn’t try to call the other number on file, email us like they had originally done when I opened the claim, or even mail me a letter as I get mail from them all the time. They simply tried once, didn’t get through, and gave up.
I’ve now spent over 6 hours trying to dispute a $145.41 charge of product I’ve clearly never received. It should have been simple, and easy. I’ve never had such bad experiences with any other financial institution in my life. It’s been nearly two months since the purchase with no product delivered and Zion’s Bank still doesn’t have my back. Instead of pushing the burden of proof of sale on Lowe’s, they pushed it back on me for some reason.
I don’t feel my money is safe with Zions Bank.
