First time here and I loved the environment. The salad was more of a slaw and definitely could have been better. Paid an extra $7 for 4 shrimp which definitely felt like a joke look at the ratio of shrimp to salad.
Service was great.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Zing Café and Market, and overall, it’s a solid spot to hang out and grab a quick bite, especially if you’re in the arts district.
The atmosphere is inviting and perfect for socializing. Whether you’re meeting up with friends or just need a place to relax, Zing Café offers a comfortable setting with a laid-back vibe.
I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and while it was decent, it wasn’t the best I’ve had. The flavors were good, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. That said, the café has a good variety of options on the menu, so there’s likely something for everyone.
Service was okay—nothing particularly noteworthy, but the staff was friendly enough. If you’re looking for a place with excellent service, this might not be it, but it gets the job done for a quick meal.
Overall, if you’re in the arts district and need a convenient spot to meet up with friends or just chill out, Zing Café and Market is worth a visit. It’s not a place I’d go out of my way for, but it’s definitely a nice neighborhood café.
Zinc Cafe is under new ownership and I was very disappointed with the changes they’ve made. First, the week day hot food bar is gone. This was my absolute favorite. Second, the menu now has meat, which is fine, but they have replaced many of the vegetable forward favorites. Their fabulous mushroom pizza is sadly gone too. I ended up getting a cup of soup and a side of salmon. The soup was fine but the salmon was burnt, as you can see in the photo. I used to love their marzipan muffins and those are gone too. Instead I tried their lemon poppy seed muffin which was ok, but they were unable to heat it for me when I asked. The hostess and server were nice and attentive which is why I gave two stars, but the new menu and poorly prepared food was just sad. I’ve loved Zinc for years and will not be returning.
I visited this spot for an end-of-semester celebration with my classmates. The food was decent, though the portions were a bit skimpy—pretty much what you'd expect for a place in this area. I asked the waiter if they had something similar to steak and eggs, he recommended that I got eggs with leak ($14) and add steak for an upgrade of $10. I was excited because I thought I would get a decent steak with my eggs however it was only a few strips of steak, which were not even cooked to the medium rare that I requested.. However , What really stood out was the exceptional service! The waitstaff were attentive and made the overall experience worthwhile. The ambiance was charming, with a decorative and cutesy vibe. While I wouldn't come here on my own, it's definitely a fun spot for a group of friends!
This beautiful, plant based spot has been an Arts District staple for years, and they have no messed with the recipe that has made it so. While the restaurant experience is lovely, I most often come for the “cafeteria style” lunch, that you pay for by weight. It’s a great way for those who like to try “a little of everything”. It’s all just so tasty and filling. Note that they have a bar area that comes alive at night, and a little pantry/market area at the front as well. All in all a great place to visit. ✌????
Located in the heart of the Arts District Zinc Cafe & Market has long been a favorite hot spot, with a reputation for quality food and amiable surroundings.
Their cafeteria style lunch pay by weight, becomes a delicious buffet that caters to every expectation of the taste, drinks at the bar seating area in the evenings, and a small market section right in the front for easy peasy shopping.
Some dishes we enjoyed during the visit here included poached eggs a savory myriad of mushrooms, and asparagus. The friendly service and chatty atmosphere made this place one of the best experiences.
Zinc Cafe & Market gives the promise of tasty bites either all day long with their wide variety of lunch options or at the colorful evening bar.
I really liked this place. Food was delicious, staff was friendly, service was fast, atmosphere was nice with great music. We ordered the poached eggs and the mushrooms and asparagus and it was delicious.
Wonderful to go to alone or with friends espcially for their happy hour (4-6 every day)
They changed their hh menu to get rid of the fries and flatbread though super bummed about that. Still i got the sliders and they tasted good. This place has endless seating and wifi!
