Went with two friends this evening, both of whom had never had Ethiopian food before. Zene and the rest of the staff went our of their way with their hospitality and good service from start to finish. I got the veggie platter which was packed with flavor and offered a ton of variety. My friends kept trying to get me to pick a favorite and it kept changing bacause everything was so good. Definitely the best one I've ever had. I'm so glad this was my friend's first experience and I will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for the incredible meal!
The food was great! The waitress there was so nice, I think they hired the perfect waitress. She checked on us multiple times even while the place was busy and that kind of service is unusual at an Ethiopian restaurants. The atmosphere could use some improvement/upgrade the old tables/chairs, etc.
The best Ethiopian local restaurant in Silver Spring. Friendly staff and the owner so polite and helpful. The food is delicious and the portions are large enough. We tried an ethiopian beer which is very tasty. The atmosphere is friendly. The decoration is amazing and the music is fascinating. Prices are very reasonable.
So so good! Food is always so fresh every time. I always usually get a veggie combo, fish dulet and Goden tibs. You can tell this place is great because its mostly always packed with Ethiopian people. Service is good, sometimes a little slow but nothing crazy. The owner is very delightful and always walks around to say hi to everyone. There is often incense burning which is nice but sometimes a little strong. I will always come back here!

I recently dined at Zene’s, an Ethiopian restaurant, and had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for an enjoyable meal. I ordered the ribs and dodowet, both of which were incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared. The ribs were tender and succulent, while the dodowet had a rich, spicy depth that left me wanting more. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. I will definitely be returning to Zene’s to explore more of their delicious menu. Highly recommended!
Love the kitfo, zilzil tibs, shint tibs and goden tibs. The veggie combo is also very good. It goes well with the tibs.
If you chance on the dabo (Ethiopian bread) on the grocery section, give it a try, it's good.
Zene is very friendly and nice and so are the staff.
