Best WLM Reviews

A Disappointing Experience Despite the High Ratings!
I visited this restaurant based on its high ratings (4.6 out of 5 with over 3,000 reviews), but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. I ordered Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, a small side salad, and French fries (frites). However, the dish arrived with roasted potatoes instead of the fries I had ordered. When I pointed this out to the server, they simply replied, “This is the only type of potatoes we serve,” without mentioning this detail when I placed my order.
About the food: The taste wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It was very basic and completely unremarkable. On top of that, the presentation was poor and unappealing, falling far below the standard I’d expect from a restaurant at this price point.
Overall experience: The total bill came to around $41, which is far too expensive for what I got. On top of that, the seating was incredibly uncomfortable—I felt like I was sitting in the middle of a walkway, which ruined the atmosphere even further.
Honestly, I’m not sure how this place has such high ratings. For me, it’s not worth the price or the hype, and I don’t think I’ll be returning.
I had eggs benedict with smoked salmon and they were the best I’ve ever had! The french toast was very good too, but I was expecting it to be a bit creamier. Service is a bit slow because it is always crowded, but I didn’t bother. Food is a bit pricey.
Zazie is an amazing spot for brunch in the Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. The vibe is cozy, especially if you get a seat in the back patio, which has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I had the Eggs Divorcée with Gingerbread Pancakes, and it was all so delicious! They brought the wrong syrup at first, but the staff was super quick to fix it, even changing the plate for us. There was also a small billing mistake where we were charged for two orders of pancakes, but they corrected it immediately.
The food is great, especially those Gingerbread Pancakes—they had a nice cinnamon kick! The service was friendly and professional, and despite a couple of minor hiccups, it was an enjoyable experience. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a good brunch in San Francisco! I'll definitely visit again ????????
The food was so delicious, we called ahead and they were able to accommodate our large group. The portions were great and the staff were all so friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seems to have heating for the colder days.
We got the butter milk pancakes and the zazie omelet, which had butternut squash, bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes and goat cheese. My partner really enjoyed their omelet, it was their first time trying butternut squash and they said it was very tasty. They had a good variety of drink options as well.
If you love the pancakes they also sell the mix for you to make at home which I found to be such a great option for yourself or for a gift. They were regularly checking of we needed refills of our black coffee, and the food came pretty quick too.
There can be a little wait for the bathroom as this is a older building which has a single bathroom but the bathroom was clean, private and while it was small it was roughly the same room you would normally find in a stall somewhere else.
Overall we will be coming back again as there were so many breakfast and brunch options we all wanted to try! Great little gem we really enjoyed eating at!
A casual brunch spot with French notes. Great for a place to catch up with friends.
This place is a big overpriced for the quality/flavour of the dishes. The eggs benedict are executed well here - the hollandaise compliments the egg. However, the other components aren’t anything out of the ordinary - the english muffin tasted very normal. The scrambled eggs tasted like something you can quickly make in your own kitchen - the flavours were just okay. The pancakes were fluffy but also okay.
The restaurant has a really cozy outdoor dining area in the back which is really cute and aesthetic. There are a lot of nature and wooden elements.
Service was nice and quick.
Zazie has a charming ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Our server was friendly and attentive, which was a plus. However, our brunch experience was a mixed bag.
I recommend making a reservation, because the restaurant was packed when we got there for brunch on a weekend. The waitlist management seemed chaotic. Despite being notified that our table was ready, we waited an additional 15 minutes while empty tables sat unused.
The smoked wild salmon sandwich was disappointing. The bread was tough, and the salmon had a slightly fishy taste, suggesting it wasn't the freshest. The accompanying potatoes lacked seasoning.
The Tahiti French toast was rich and satisfying, but it could have benefited from crispier edges.
Overall, while the service was good, the food and waitlist issues needed their attention.
I've been to over 10 Michelin restaurants in different parts of France. This restaurant really captures the flavors, sauces, and dishes unique to France. The French onion soup was excellent. But I especially enjoyed the pork chops. The sauce they used paired with the vegetables was amazing. It was among some of the best pork chops I've tried. I'll be back to try more dishes. I'd recommend this restaurant for excellent French food.
If you pick one breakfast spot in San Fran, go here. The service is homey and friendly. The food is exquisite. Endless Benedict options crafted in a small kitchen. The backyard patio is a welcome respite. I cannot recommend enough!
On top of that, the servers recommended amazing spots in the city to visit, including the best cocktail bars in the mission district.
