Best WLM Reviews
Wonderful atmosphere, it is a busy restaurant food tastes are excellent. We tried few items, no major companies. All good. Average cost of food is around 18 dollars person. Which is reasonable. We will visit them again.
Naan, Muton Curry, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala was the best.
This place is great! They’re like an Indian Chipotle (when Chipotle was good)—they do a few dishes and they do them very well! They are also very popular, but despite how many people they bring in, the service is fast, the food comes out promptly, and you can still find a place to sit.
I like getting the Chicken Tikka Thali from them. I like the paring of all the items. The chicken tikka is very tender and creamy and goes well with the rice. I also like the lentil soup, even though it’s a bit salty. And the little vegetable lentil salad they add has started to grow on me and so now I like how it adds a lightness to the meal.
We came on a Wednesday evening and I was surprised at how packed it was. There was a little line to order, but it moved fast. They give you a number and you can sit anywhere. There is a lot of seating outdoors as well as indoor. Also they serve the food pretty fast. For me, I ordered 1 dish and 1 appetizer and it came out after 5 minutes of me sitting down at the table.
They have good service too. Even though it’s pretty much self-server, someone still comes around to check if you need anything. I like how they put the napkins and utensils on the table. It’s very convenient and you don’t need to flag a waiter down.
Parking: There are a few parking garages in that area of Palo Alto. We usually park at the one nearby.
Strongly recommend Zareen's, even though they serve fast, but that doesn't mean that they serve cheap food, instead the Chicken Tekka curry that I ordered was totally on point ☝️.
The curry was full of flavors, and the chicken ???? was as much tender as it should. Meanwhile the dosa and salad ???? was also tasted so well.
Will definitely come again!
I was never a fan of Lamb Gosht curry until I tried it at this restaurant. The gravy here is noticeably thicker, with a subtle hint of tomato flavor that set it apart from others I’ve had. In a well-prepared curry like this, the meat almost melts into the sauce, blending seamlessly—a result of slow cooking over hours, and it’s clear the restaurant has put in the effort to achieve that perfection.
Zareen's has been a staple for a long time, and their food is unmatched. Here's some important things to note:
Location: This Palo Alto location has a lot of outdoor seating, not as much indoor. The Mountain View location is primarily takeout only. The Redwood City location is arguably their largest site, with plenty of big tables. Pick based on what you're looking for!
Food: The food here is excellent, lots of fun twists on classics (like a tikka burrito!). Lunch special is a HUGE portion and a great deal. Do be aware, you need to order rice and naan separately, it doesn't come with the entree.
Service: While the food is so good, I have consistently been disappointed with the service. It's upsetting as I know this is a local chain but the times that I've visited, I've been met with a cold shoulder or unwillingness to answer questions about items I may not be familiar with. I do hope this is just a coincidence with the times I've visited!
Otherwise, totally recommend for a casual lunch/dinner and to enjoy some really great food.
10/18/24 Sunday
Chicken Tikka masala, garlic naan, chicken boti sizzler, Lamb gosht n mango lassi.
10/7/24 Monday very good location, inside, outside seating. We ordered chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, chicken shami Kabab, grilled chicken boti sizzler, mango lassi, rice pudding, paneer tikka n madras curry thali. All taste very good except rice pudding was too thick should have been soft n creamy & thali was alright. Will come back again n try more menu items.
Zareen’s has always been one of our go tos for halal Pakistani food.
We’ve frequented the restaurant since the very beginning and can say they are still delicious.
Highly recommend their chicken tikka masala, Bihari kebab, and burgers. And mango lassi and chai.
Food is delicious
It probably represents Pakistani street food style of cooking , with lots of oils and large portions
Kids love the chicken burger
The curries are spectacular , especially the lamb curry
The flatbreads are outstanding : the paratha is a whole wheat flatbread , it’s too thick . Would love for it to be a bit thinner and baked a bit more
The chicken roast is a one item meal , it’s enough chicken for 2 people
Vegetarian options are good too though a bit overcooked in the street food style
