Best WLM Reviews

3.5 out of 5 stars
The comedy club had a decent atmosphere—not particularly memorable, but comfortable enough for a night out with friends. The lineup of comedians was solid, with a few standout acts that had the whole room laughing.
One thing to note is the drink service. The drinks were okay—not bad, but nothing special either. If you’re planning to order, make sure you’re at your table when the waiter first comes around. They don’t take orders at the bar, so if you miss the initial visit, you’ll have to wait for the waiter to come back around, which could take a while.
Overall, the experience was fun and the comedy delivered, but the drink situation and the average atmosphere were the only downsides. Still, it’s a good spot for a casual night of laughs.
I have been to Zanies on at least ten occasions. I have been solo, with friends and on a date. Parking used to be free, now they have an alternate parking lot that you have to pay for if you don’t get a spot in their free small lot or on the street. They usually run on time. I recommend to always get the VIP tickets (I’m not sure why but their website doesn’t always give me the option for VIP tickets even if they’re not sold out.) Always get there early to choose your seats. There are several seats that are down right uncomfortable and have a terrible view. The seating is also very close together so you will be getting closely acquainted with whoever sits at your table or near you. I have noticed the last couple of times that the food is being cooked in old grease that needs to be changed. The last time I got sick from it. The mixed drinks are watered wayyy down. Sometimes the service is slow but the servers and employees have always been nice and pleasant. Nonetheless, I know I’ll return because I do like the ticket prices, the intimate atmosphere in regard to the performers and I like the smaller venue. I still have a good time at this place.
Great comedy club that has some of the best comedians that come into Nashville. It has comedy every night (or nearly every night) which means you can last go and the tickets are usually fairly cheap. When you get there, security is there to make sure you have no weapons, food, or drinks. The person who bought the tickets will also need to show an ID since there are no physical tickets. There is a 2 item minimum for food/drink, so be sure to keep this in mind as well. It has plenty of seating with some very close to the stage, in the middle, and on a balcony. The seating is tight though, so please be aware of that. You will likely get sat with other people as well at your table unless you have enough to fill the full table (which is usually 4-8). They will make you put your phone in a Yondr bag usually during the show to make sure no taping is done for the sets. But it can easily be taken out in the front lobby if necessary.
The staff are very nice and usually pretty good about coming a round several times before (and during) the show to make sure you have enough drinks and food. I’ve had it a few times with different waitstaff that if you order later when they are busier, they will forget to place your order so you don’t get it but generally it’s not a big deal and I’m sure would put it in if you asked for it again.
The food is not the best. It’s basically bar food and all is fried. It’s not great for vegetarian (or especially vegan) options. The chicken tenders were pretty good and were quite large! The onion rings were also good. The regular fries are not the best. They aren’t very crispy, so I don’t recommend them. The drinks are pretty good! They can be strong! It is nice that they come in glasses or pitchers so if you have more people it is cheaper to do the pitcher.
The parking sucks. It is a small lot which fills up quickly because there are now two comedy clubs right next to each other (Zanies and The Lab at Zanies) and can be hard to maneuver around people if you go to an earlier show and there is a later show. The parking lot is free though which is nice. There is some street parking near that is free also but isn’t guaranteed. I recommend Ubering if possible.
I always have a good time. Small enough to feel intimate but not too small. Arrive early because there will be a line and seating is first come first serve. There is a two item minimum order per person.
The experience of the show was awesome (Ginger Billy). The drinks were ok, a bit to much syrup in the syrup. The food, nothing special. Don't think that they could have gotten 1 more body in the room, but enjoyed the show.
Show was great! We went on Sunday for a sold out show. Definitely recommend seeing a show here.
The server/waitress we had was obviously overwhelmed or had a general dislike of her job. Didn’t feel an automatic 20% gratuity was appropriate. Seemed like she knew she was getting 20% regardless of her service. Pleasant she was not.
Food and drinks were good.
Second time to Zanies and I would love to do nothing but positive feedback but omg please get a different seating method. The comedians are so good you have to go anyway even if you are perched like a chicken on barbed wire on a wobbly old stool from grandmas house in 1974 far away from your rooster of the night but smack dab in front of a total stranger trying to duck and wobble from the dark corners of the universe to get a glimpse of the live action. The misleading misnomer of “VIP tickets” in this classic bait and switch leads fellow ADD brains to miss the “first come first serve” notice in fine print on the booking so when I swirl in so proud of myself for being on time only to realize that’s way late and there are four options for seats in the entire place left and I am a VIP?! Busy bar aisle table for two with four crowded around and so far I can’t nuzzle my rooster just chicken perching solo tucked in a dark corner is not VIP in my world. Just a clean folding chair in a row with a seat back would be better than feeling like a rotating toddler on a merry go round but you can’t like say anything because there are old people there laughing their asses off right beside you oblivious to modern expectation levels. They are just glad to be out of the house with their teeth tucked in fresh out of Denture Cleaning Heaven and still upright at all. So then you give the experience a 5 star because you feel guilty for even thinking about complaining since you had so much belly aching laughter with Nate Bargetze and Anjelah Mexican Chica and you are so full from a delicious vegan burger and mandatory drink you stop fretting and wondering what the punishment is because your cock-a-doodle doo didn’t order two items like we were told explicitly on the menu, tickets, etc. but he’s Mexican so Anjelah probably gave him a hall pass just this once. So we good. Go. You will love it and laugh your ass off - you can soak it in a hot sitz bath when you get home to ease the barstool imprint and then be the star of water cooler talk the next day at work sharing the amazing jokes you heard from the best comedians of 2024.
Went to see Ralph Barbosa! So glad he came to nashville. The entire lineup was hilarious. Love the unique comedy style. Hope he comes back to Nashville with his crew again.
Zanies is great, our waiter was great. Missed her name but she was amazing and very attentive while allowing guests to enjoy the show.
Side note, ensure your in the right line. I waited on the wrong side of the building for about 15 mins. Luckily I arrived early enough.
