I only went to the vegan / gluten free / oil free buffet, so I can't speak to the regular menu.
I really enjoyed all of the vegan bread options, at the time they had samosas which were my favorite!
I do wish they had regular drinks, rather than only water bottles.
It's pretty rare to have an all vegan buffet, so I really enjoyed that aspect of not having to worry about what I could eat. It was quite a treat, and you wouldn't know based on the flavor that it was gluten-free and oil-free vegan!
My husband and I were hankering for Indian food, and the places I've enjoyed are further away now. I'm so glad we found this spot and gave it a chance! Lots of great vegan/vegetarian menu options. I had chicken tikka, he had the eggplant curry dish, and we started with samosas. I got a masala chai and he got a mango lassi. All delicious, sauces to go with everything were good. We felt cozy and server was very sweet. Food came out quickly, hot and fresh. The naan is also pillowy-soft. We will be back to try more of the menu!!
Nice lunch buffet with veggie options with free dosas. Some buffet items were cold. Delicious, super fresh garlic naan served. Fast, attentive service. Flavors not as good as the previous owner of Madras Pavilion.
Update: August 18, 2024. The restaurant has the best vegan, gluten free and oil free buffet every Sunday starting at 5:30 pm. The corn halwa and vegan mango lasi were deliciously unique.
Great food...great cheese naan... fantastic vegetarian and vegan food. Loved the chicken dishes. Chat stall and deserts are amazing.
The food was ok, ordered paneer biryani, manchuria and paneer masala. We asked for spicy and none of them were extremely spicy, they were medium at best. Paneer biryani was like a curry mixed in basmati rice. Lacha paratha was not lacha paratha. Manchuri was fine and freshly made. Only paneer masala curry was good. The prices are high for the quality and quantity.
We are always looking for good Indian food in the Austin Area so when we found Zaika we were more than pleased with the food atmosphere and service. All of it was great and our server Vinaya was amazing. Thank you so much to the manager for providing us with complimentary treats for it being our first visit there. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant again!????
The food is excellent here! One of the best tasting Indian food! They have a large menu for gluten free and dairy free options. Vegan options too. Very personal customer service feeling. Not busy in the evenings so great place to grab a bite to eat when your crunch with time. This rating is based on the food and service.
The bathroom could use some updating.
Two visits to this place have been enough to give me the opportunity to continue trying Indian cuisine. I love trying Indian food in buffet to have a better opportunity to know and taste the flavors and I thank this place for still having this buffet option. We had tried quite some different Indian food around town and other cities but no one like shalimar in Lamar, sadly the pandemic forced them to permanently close down their restaurant. Again this place have some decent food but they need more flavor especially the chicken tikka masala and the naan bread that they serve at the table is really thin not like others places. Also for the first time I ordered Togo and garlic naan and it was completely different, the texture and quality. I few like this place have a good potential location but more options in the buffet and more flavor on the food will be great.
Servers are very friendly and the owners or managers are also very friendly and they never are on top of the guests looking for how much food they are taking from the buffet.
The restaurant looks super clean and tables are always presentable to the guests.
