This is a pet friendly hotel, which is a plus for those who have pets. For those who don’t, it’s a bit of a surprise when you find a clump of dog hair on the floor in your supposed cleaned room. A bit of advice, offer designated rooms for those with pets and keep some rooms pet free for those not comfortable staying in a room previously occupied by a cat or dog.
Housekeeping was a bit slow, I asked for a crib and was brought a pack n play 45 minutes later after I checked in. They then asked me if I wanted to set it up myself, which seemed lazy on their part. I asked them to do it and they did. For the amount I paid plus all the extra fees for the resort and parking, I’d expect the level of service to be higher. I’ve also never been to a hotel that charges you to bring food up to your room. It seemed like this place tries to squeeze every penny they can.
The grounds are nice but the rooms felt like a 3 star hotel (which doesn’t match the price you pay). AC didn’t really work and the room could have been cleaned better.
Lastly, there is absolutely no reason to charge $45 for self parking and $50 for valet per day. Resorts in Hawaii don’t even charge that much and they have a full valet staff. If you’re going to charge that much there should definitely be more than one person working at a time to eliminate wait times.
My husband treated me to three nights at Zachari Dunes for my birthday. We had a wonderful stay. The staff was attentive to detail and very responsive to our requests. I have sleep issues and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed the large heated pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel is right on the beach and it was nice to be able to walk there every day and see the sea birds. We also enjoyed having three dinners at the onsite restaurant: Ox & Ocean. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a fun atmosphere that was elegant but relaxed. I hope to have the opportunity to stay at Zachari Dunes again sometime.
As a Hilton Diamond member, I’ve always trusted Hilton properties with my loyalty, my time, and my money—but my experience at Zachari Dunes has completely shattered that trust. On September 15, I entrusted my $150,000 Range Rover to the hotel valet service, expecting the professionalism I’ve come to associate with Hilton. When I picked up my car, I was horrified to find major damage to the rear door that had not been there before.||||What followed was an absolute disaster. The hotel promptly deflected blame, claiming the valet service was run by LAZ Parking and that I had to deal with them directly. LAZ Parking initially admitted responsibility and assured me it would be handled. However, after I went through the effort and expense of obtaining quotes from a body shop, their insurance company completely reversed course, accusing me of providing insufficient evidence—even after I submitted before-and-after photos proving the car was in perfect condition when I handed it over.||||Despite my loyalty to Hilton, holding their credit card, and staying exclusively at their properties, I was abandoned. Hilton management didn’t even offer to comp my room for the ordeal. In the end, I was left with a $7,000 repair bill and a mere $1,000 insurance payout—a disgraceful response considering the clear evidence.||||The lack of accountability from both the hotel and their valet service is appalling. Passing the blame back and forth while loyal guests are left footing the bill is beyond unprofessional; it’s outright dishonest. If Hilton cannot ensure integrity and accountability from its partners, how can we trust them at all?||||I will not let this go unanswered. I’m preparing legal action, but I must warn anyone considering this property: do not entrust them with your valuables or your loyalty. They will let you down, and you’ll be the one left paying for their negligence.
There are some great things about this hotel, but in other areas it falls short. We came for a family wedding, spent two nights, and had a great time. We reserved two rooms and paid additional to upgrade prior to arrival. I'm glad we did. Some of the rooms we looked at that other guests received were dark and without a view of any sort. Some Pros: Excellent front desk service. Michelle at the front desk was extremely attentive and helpful. Any good hotel experience begins at the front desk. Thank you! We had breakfast at the restaurant both days and the service and food was very good. The location is amazing! There is a beautiful pool area, lovely fire pits, a nice bar, and the hotel is located right on the beach. Some Cons: While we loved the view from our deck, other areas of the room were disappointing. The sofa and linens were tired and worn. One pillowcase had a hole in it. Blankets for the pull out bed were rough and looked ancient. They were very, very used. The sofa itself was dingy and pilling. The comforter on the kingsize bed felt like paper. Some areas of the hallway smelled like a sewer. I requested fresh towels for our second night and never received them. The resort fee, parking fee, and room expense combined are simply too high to justify ragged linens and a smelly hallway. If Hilton wants to remain competitive, they are going to have to do better!
I booked an ocean view room. When I got their they gave me a partial ocean view because according to them it technically was an ocean view room. The lady receptionist didn’t offer any and said there wasn’t anything she could do about it. I get to my room and I look out of my window. I see parking lot and some sand dunes. If I get really close to the window in my room and press my left ear against the window I can see a sliver of the ocean. Horrible experience when I expected better. They are the only resort im the area but they don’t care about their guests. My room location can be seen in the screenshot. If you get a room in this area, I believe they call the building Adventure room was A105, don’t expect to see the ocean unless you walk out to the grass. I’m disappointed with what was supposed to be a special night with ocean views. Turned out to be parking lot views.
This is an update to my previous review of my stay with my family in Sept 2024 over labor day weekend. We had to sue the hotel in small claims court because they wouldn't cover the loss of my son's electric bike from their parking garage. They have no bike racks, no security in the garage, and the elevators were broken during our stay. In small claims they didn't even offer to comp any part of our $5000 3-day weekend. Don't take your family here because there's no security. The gates are open to the beach all day and night. The pool area is full of locals that aren't staying at the hotel. Cussing and drinking all day and night. This is NOT a family hotel. We had to call security at 2am because the room below us was having a party with over 20 people. Drunks everywhere. It's just not worth what you spend, and it's not safe. After checking with the police department I discovered they have had 5 cars stolen in the two years they've had the hotel under their management.
Paying $750/night you’d expect much better service. My family and I were excited to stay in this hotel, and they put us right next to the elevator with a 2 year old. When I asked to switch, even asking if I could upgrade they denied me, even though people haven’t checked in yet. I’d expect this from a holiday inn, but when I’m spending $750/night at a hotel I expect a level of service. I could have just stayed at a holiday inn and received better service. Very disappointed with management and the service.
The location is really amazing. I had a wonderful experience and would visit again for sure. The ocean views there cannot be matched and being in such a lovely space was well worth the price. I highly recommend a trip to the hotel restaurant.
