I ordered 2 tortas for pick up. 1 for me one for my son. I was about half way through when I pulled out a hair from my torta. I made my son stop eating his food just in case his had a hair as well.
I called and asked to speak to the manager Uriel. I told him what was going on and he offered me a free drink. This should of been free with an upgrade since I had to drive all the way back wait in line and pick up my order again. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THIS PLACE
The service is what is expected out of this area. Typically I drive out of my way to even come to either of the Zacatacos locations on Harlem Ave(Bridgeview and Berwyn) bc I enjoy their food.
I bought lunch for my family of 4 after a busy afternoon 8/21 2:30 pm and we all had THE ABSOLUTE WORST stomach PAIN and DIARRHEA after eating only half of our meals.
From when I opened my food was I was skeptical bc it smelled different and had such a SLOPPY presentation.
We purchased tacos that were so poorly put together (forgot to take picture) that there was barely lettuce with thick chunks of meat. The last time I asked for the meat to be diced and cooked well they claim they typically prepare their food that way which obviously was not the case.
Beyond disappointed and disgusted with the team.
I have never had stomach pains after eating from the Bridgeview location. The staff should be ashamed to be serving food that way.
Beans: taste was burnt and old
Rice: was fresh/warm, ok taste
Guac &Chips: chips were so stale and cold when norm they are warm and crunchy. Guac was ok (no salt)
Horchata: as always a staple
Tacos: asada was barely cooked through with a *DASH* of lettuce????
Torta Asada:
Torta Milanesa de pollo: Very Greasy Rubber texture chicken!!! STAY AWAY
Sloppy presentation. Horrible taste.
The first bite I took a giant piece of avocado fell out!
ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH $60+
DO NOT RECOMMEND
Not enough seats for the elderly. No seats at all to be honest. Chairs to tall. Lay out is too small and the seating is just terrible overall. Food is good but just get it to go. Won't be able to eat it fresh and hot. But still good enough warm.
4 tacos with no rice and beans cost me $20. I wasn't a fan of the melted cheese that was added. I haven't been to this location in years. It seems like a lot has changed. I want to try some other dishes on the menu and if I am in the area again I probably will stop by. If I order tacos I won't get the cheese on them.
The food is good! They put enough meat on their tacos. The only problem is their cashiers think they have the right to be giving customers attitude. I told the cashier in a good manner to give me a second because my card didn’t work (didn’t answer, she just gave me a stank look, crackling her nails) the last thing I need is an employee rushing me with a stank face. I asked you kindly and you wanna proceed and be smart about it. Worst part is they act offended when you give them the same energy back. Owner/manager should really remind them this isn’t high school, this is a business. I just want my tacos and that’s it. It’s not that deep to wait a couple second and yes literally seconds because I get anxious to make people wait, but you’re also not gonna treat me wrong.
Average tacos at best. Someone needs to tell the cook to cut up the steak meat more finely. It was chunky and too chewy. Also, the place had no AC and was very uncomfortable to eat at.
I've been consistently going to this location for over a decade. The food is usually excellent, and, when it's not, it's still good. I typically don't order Mexican food unless it's from Zacatacos on Harlem and Pershing - when I'm out of town, I look forward to coming back to eating here. If you're close enough, these are the only tacos you need.
This place is just a shadow of what it used to be, no more tables only stools with counters.
They turned it into a fast food carryout restaurant, with a small window used as a drive-thru, for orders placed ahead of time.
It's also super smokey in this place.
I don't understand why they don't turn on the extractor, so it won't choke the interior with smoke.
The steak burritos and tortas got smaller and almost doubled in price. The steak on my burrito was way over cooked and it caused it to taste like beef jerky.
They changed way too much, unfortunately not in good way.
I'm not sure if I'll ever be coming back.
