Best WLM Reviews

Z&Y Restaurant in San Francisco is a great Saturday vibe. I was seated right away, and the server was kind and helpful—he made sure to ask if I had any questions before taking my order. The place has this cozy yet energetic feel, with lots of people chatting and enjoying their meals. It’s busy but not chaotic, which I was nervous about when I read previous reviews.
Service was quick, the atmosphere was warm.
I ordered Jasmine Tea with Spicy dumplings & the Tea Smoked Duck. Food was amazing! I would recommend what I ordered!

Super-packed, to an almost extreme extent with little space between tables; Michelin Guide in 2021. Our order was taken before we were seated since it was so full.
The pancake with beef appetizer was pretty good, with a crispy outside and nice filling inside. The beef and shrimp fried rice were both pretty good, but the real star was the House whole fish (black bass), which was piping hot, fresh, and had that signature numbing effect.
Food was great, but be cautious of heading down during the busiest season since it can be pretty extreme haha!
I had such a great experience at Y AND Z restaurant! Everything we tried was seriously delicious and felt so high-quality. The orange chicken was just perfect—crispy on the outside with a sauce that was spot-on, not too thick or too runny. And the pork soup dumplings? Amazing. They paired perfectly with the plum vinegar, which added just the right kick.
We also ordered the truffle fried rice, and wow, it was something special! Different from what you usually get at a Chinese restaurant, but in the best way possible. To top it off, we had chrysanthemum tea, and they actually serve it with whole flowers in the cup, which was such a cute touch. It was warm and comforting, especially on a chilly Sunday night. I’ll definitely be coming back to Y AND Z!
**Z & Y Restaurant: A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Chinatown**
Nestled in the bustling heart of San Francisco's Chinatown, Z & Y Restaurant stands out as a true culinary gem. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu at Z & Y is a delightful journey through the diverse flavors of Chinese cuisine. Each dish is a masterpiece, expertly prepared with the freshest ingredients and a passion for authentic flavors. Whether you're indulging in their signature spicy Szechuan dishes or savoring the delicate nuances of Cantonese classics, every bite is a revelation.
The service at Z & Y is equally impressive. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. They are happy to guide you through the menu, offering recommendations and insights that enhance your culinary journey.
While the restaurant's intimate seating area adds to its charm, it's wise to call ahead and make a reservation, especially during peak hours. This ensures that you can fully immerse yourself in the Z & Y experience without any wait.
In conclusion, Z & Y Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable Chinese dining experience in San Francisco. The combination of exceptional food, impeccable service, and a warm ambiance makes it a true standout. I wholeheartedly give Z & Y Restaurant a 5 out of 5-star rating and eagerly anticipate my next visit.
Z & Y Restaurant in San Francisco came highly recommended as one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in the city, particularly in Chinatown. Since we were staying at the Fairmont San Francisco, it was within walking distance, which was very convenient for us.
The food itself was incredible—tasting very fresh and absolutely to our liking. We enjoyed it so much that we visited on several occasions during our stay. The atmosphere is exactly what you would hope for in Chinatown: vibrant, bustling, and rich with culture.
Our experience with the staff was mixed. Some staff members were incredible and attentive, enhancing our dining experience. However, others seemed to rush us when ordering. For example, when my wife asked for recommendations, it was met with a bit of annoyance, as if we should have known what to order ourselves. It felt like we were being hurried, which was a bit off-putting.
Despite this, the exceptional quality of the food and the authentic atmosphere make Z & Y Restaurant a standout place to dine. If you're looking for delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine and an immersive Chinatown experience, I highly recommend giving it a try. Just be prepared for a lively environment, and perhaps have an idea of what you'd like to order in advance. We're definitely planning to return on our next visit to San Francisco.
Service is excellent and food comes out very quickly. One of my favorite spots in china town. The sauted green beans are the best I’ve ever had and always have me coming back. The numbing spice dishes are also a must have.
I had high expectations for an American Chinese restaurant, but it surprisingly delivered a very authentic Chinese Chinese experience. The flavors were authentic and quite spicy. The duck dish was particularly delicious and flavorful. The other dishes were also good, but nothing extraordinary.
Yesterday evening, we visited a highly acclaimed restaurant in San Francisco, but our experience was far from pleasant. Despite its great reputation, the reality was quite disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, but the primary issue was the environment. Several tables were practically standing in the cold wind, making it very uncomfortable to enjoy the meal.
The taste of the dishes was very ordinary. We ordered a boiled fish dish and two small sides, and the total cost for two people was an astonishing $70 per person. Additionally, they had a strange 10% “Surcharge,” which I’ve never encountered at any other restaurant.
The service was also poor, with unfriendly and inattentive staff. Overall, everything about the experience was disappointing. I rarely give ratings below three stars, but this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to give a two-star review.
