Best WLM Reviews
I only gave 3 stars for atmosphere due to the darkness. It's too dark. They shouldn't HIDE the gorgeous space. Let people see all of the beautiful space! Yvonne's Speakeasy at Downtown Crossing offers a unique and immersive experience nestled in the heart of Boston. Upon entering, you're transported back to the Prohibition era, with its vintage decor and dim lighting creating a cozy yet lively atmosphere.
The drinks menu is impressive, featuring creatively crafted cocktails that pay homage to classic recipes. Each drink is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing the bartenders' skills. The bartenders themselves are friendly and knowledgeable, often sharing interesting stories about the drinks and the history of speakeasies.
The crowd is diverse, making it a great spot for anyone looking to unwind after a long day or celebrate a special occasion. Overall, Yvonne's Speakeasy is a hidden gem in Boston, blending history, great drinks into a memorable evening out.
Yvonne’s is an absolute must-visit if you’re in the area. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable, and perfectly aligned with the festive vibe around the holidays. The staff are incredibly delightful, making the experience warm and welcoming from start to finish. Their drinks are not only delicious but also uniquely crafted, showcasing impressive creativity. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal or just drinks, Yvonne’s delivers an exceptional experience that’s worth every moment—I highly recommend making reservations to ensure you get a spot!
I had celebrated our friend’s-birthday. The food and service was phenomenal. ✨✨ The server made a great recommendation for the meal I ordered. It is a bit pricey but the food was top quality. I recommend the restaurant for a date night as it would be romantic❤️????
We had a reservation yesterday 9/14 on my actual birthday. I want to start with the positive which is the food, the food was delicious I really enjoyed the meatballs and octopus. The drinks were also good. Our server was nice very chill. Unfortunately, I have to say they need to work on the host stand. They are the first and last people guest interact and for us it wasn’t a good one. It was our first time and we called we were running a few minutes late due to trying to find the place and parking. As we explain that to the male host who answered the phone he was not helpful with parking information and he just said we have a 15 minute window in our reservation. Even before we arrived I was already annoyed by the attitude over the phone. Once we arrived it was a plain greeting by one of the 3 hosts and as we are walking in the host says “just so you know we have your table until 7:45” When leaving the restaurant they were all looking down at their phone and just one of them looked up as we are close to the door and says bye. Again, first and last people we interacted and they were not nice. Maybe have people who actually care a little if you want guest to visit you and more importantly come back to you!
Yvonne’s never disappoints. The speakeasy atmosphere is spot-on, with stylish decor and a lively, upscale vibe. Whether you’re stopping by for cocktails or enjoying a full dinner, the experience is always top-notch. I’ve visited for both intimate date nights and larger group dinners, and each time has been memorable. What’s impressive is how they’ve consistently maintained their quality over the years, which is hard to find in such popular places. If you’re with a group, don’t miss the Baked Alaska—it’s a must-try!
Hands down THE best dinner we had when visiting Boston. My husband and I shared 5 share plates and enjoyed a couple of nice cocktails. Incredible food and really chill vibes/atmosphere.
Nut allergy friendly! The servers are very considerate about allergies.
*Reservation highly recommended!
Located in an unassuming alley near Boston Common, Yvonne's is the true definition of a Prohibition era speakeasy. You enter into an unassuming greeting room that opens up into one of the most intimate restaurants I've ever been to.
We walked in around 5:30PM on a Sunday (near opening) and were lucky enough to get a table with no reservation. I've come later in the evening before and been turned away.
Service was pretty quick, with drinks coming out in about 10 minutes and our light bites in about 20.
For three people, we ordered a garlic shrimp pita (which is a flatbread pizza) and their creme brulee to share. The shrimp pita was perfectly crispy and each piece was balanced in all ingredients. The creme brulee was decadent with notes of caramel and chocolate.
We all had different drinks and I really enjoyed the espresso martini! One of the best I had in Boston.
A bar, library, and lounging area all at the same time, Yvonne's is a real gem in Boston. Highly recommend for a date or just a drink!
Amazing! Great ambiance, fun lively bar and delicious food. The service was great too. Where to start? We shared a number of small plates: OMG you have to get the Sunflower Date Bread, it was delicious; the Tico” Tuna Crudo was also delicious; the Lazy Lobster Dumplings were very good, Garlic Shrimp stone fired pita was also delicious. For the big plates we ordered the Crispy Tuna Fregola that was amazing ingredients! And we also had the Za'atar Rack Of Lamb, this one was just ok. Probably the least flavorful dish we had. For dessert we had the baked Alaska and the Cinnamon Babka Bites. Both were very good. The cocktails were good too and the kitchen is open late. We got there at 9:30pm and the place was packed. Looking forward to returning.
