Today was our first time dining and it was Taco Tuesday! The food was amazing, I had the carnitas tacos with a margarita and my husband had the Antonia tacos and a cerveza……..and they serve wine (the good kind). We will definitely be returning back for some really good Mexican food.
Visited today. Had Tacos Antonia - what a disaster. Taco shells were soaked in whatever sauce. Meat fell through onto the plate even and meat was tasteless. Lets not forget the lousy, watery salsa. Could not even enjoy the visit, even the food was lousy - reason: The music was so loud you could not even hear yourselves talking. The best is yet to come: While eating, cleanup was in progress - chairs screeching along the floor and while eating we "could enjoy" a broom and dustpan picking up food rest under the table. On the way out, the stench of cleaning solution hovered above the entrance. We ate there several times but it seems that the food is not consistent regarding preparation. Rice/bean were lukewarm so was the taco. Sorry, but never again.
Came here for breakfast which I highly recommend. Most places that serve menudo in town you can tell don’t wash the meat thoroughly. Yvonne’s menudo is GREAT compared to most in the area. It’s not lukewarm, you don’t have to add a lot of lime (unless you like to, ha ha) and it’s a great price. Also had the Huevos Rancheros which are very good as well. The French Toast is wonderful, made with thick toast and topped with a crumbly cinnamon and sugar mixture. Have been here for lunch as well and I would recommend that as well. The roasted pepper house salsa is delicious as well. The food here is wonderful and the price is also better than most in the area. I can’t say enough good things about it. I have gone for Taco Tuesday several times at Yvonne's Cantina and Grill. The tacos are excellent and filling. They give you the option of ground beef, potato, chicken, and shredded beef, and they are all quite tasty at a reasonable price. The place is small and it gets really full and busy on Tuesdays. You can see the servers, rushing around getting the orders to the customers. The things I would change is that only 3 of the staff were smiling; that was the owner Yvonne (who is a really cool lady, talkative, and pleasant), her daughter, and our wonderful server Pete. Although he was busy, he checked on us, got us what we needed, all with a great personality and a smile on his face. He even told us that they have Taco Thursday. Yvonne stated they start that special from 7am to closing time. Everyone else looked like they hated their jobs, sorry to say. No smiles, not personable. We were lucky to have Pete serving us. I feel for as busy they get, they need a bigger location. When you arrive you have to wait to be seated and even though the non smiling weight staff saw me and my husband waiting for like 3 minutes to be seated at the few available tables, he had to wave one of the servers down to seat us. She was not very personalable. We were sitting right by the kitchen and those cooks/ladies were busting their butts making the tacos from scratch and getting those orders out quickly. Kudos to those ladies, Yvonne, her daughter and Pete. Ask for him when you go. The food is great and the salsa is spicy. I totally recommend the food there.
The place was nice that’s pretty much the positive comment. As for the costumer service HORRIBLE the waitress Miriam definitely needs people skills did not come to check if we need anything she would pass by us and not mind us. When she brought our food to the table we said than with a straight face and walked away . I had a caldo de res the toritillas were cold and hard , the meat was extremely dry I basically left the whole plate . Wouldn’t recommend save your money. Not great quality .
Another hidden gem. But let me tell you. I have not, ever once, had enchiladas so f----ing delicious from anywhere. These blew me away. I love the fact they were a bit spicy, onion and cheese were great, not too much or less, I got mine with chicken inside. Small little bar inside the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They were all very professional. This place will not disappoint. You need to try the enchiladas. I'm telling you, they have a long life customer now, I mean customers, my mom my brother and myself. We are very happy to have found this location.
Very good food. Ate enchiladas, chile colorado, fiesta burger. Huevos rancheros
All excellent. Suggestions/ use better bulbs in seating area. Cheer it up a little. Bar area is good. Train waitress to be attentive. We were her only table and forgot about us as she was in the back. Hard to give her a tip. We arrived and five tables were dirty with five waiters just standing around. Only 3 tables active. Seemed like staff did not care. I like this place and the food. Want it to survive. The items I mention. Cause places to die.mmanagement!
Excellent customer service! If you judge a Mexican Food Restaurant by their salsa, you're in for a very pleasant meal. I ordered Tacos Antonia. Look at this pic to see that they are very generous with their portions. My husband ordered Red Enchiladas with cheese and extra onions. He was very pleased with the dark, rich sauce. Oh, and the meal came with a cup of sopa.???????? We returned for breakfast and it was awesome! ????????
