We really want to love Yummy Sushi. We are fairly regular diners there and every now and then we get our large family in for meal together. This last visit was for a group of 18 - we made reservation a week prior and asked if their AC was finally fixed (the area at the front of restaurant had been out for years) as this would have determined whether or not we go. They said yes it was fixed but when we got there it was hot and it was off. Fortunately as the sun set it kicked in and we could dine in peace for the second half of our visit.
The food was delicious. We all had the AYCE menu and the dishes were good. Timing was a bit rough - sometimes things came out super fast and other times we waited 15-20 minutes in between. We know large groups are a challenge but I wish they were a bit better prepared. We were assigned one server split up by three tables - perhaps one server per table to keep the flow of information (orders) and accountability for service would help. We got scolded for asking a different server about our order - apparently that caused confusion and some items may have been ordered twice.
Quality of the food was good but the value was excellent. We will probably go back but will think twice before going as a large group again.
All you can eat costs 45$, and the quality of the sushi is amazing! Service is nice and quick as well. Highly recommended.
First time here and the food was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful. The view at sunset was picture perfect. Will definitely be back the next we're in town.
If you're looking for some top-notch sushi, you can't go wrong with Yummy Sushi Coronado. It's got amazing customer service and good food. No matter who the waitress is, they always check on us and take away empty sushi trays pretty much as soon as we finish with them.
This is our second visit within a day due to its exceptional quality, which compelled us to return. The staff possesses commendable service, the food is of superior quality, and the prices are proportionate. We can confidently state that 10/10 would not warrant questioning this decision, only presenting oneself with an opportunity to leave satisfied.
First time visit. Great service. Food arrives fairly quickly. Went during peak dinner period . Arrived with no reservation and was able to be seated quickly inside. There is a small patio overlooking Hotel Del. Choice of AYCE or menu. Value in AYCE. Lots of options with creative rolls.
Me and my family started going to this spot earlier this year and have been loving it so far! There are nearby ayce sushi places near our home, but yummy sushi has been worth the drive each time. Food is excellent and service is great. Andy has helped us a handful of times and has always taken care of us. Highly recommend coming here! Sushi is amazing
Literally the best all you can eat sushi places I’ve ever been to. Very reasonably priced with an amazing view of the ocean. A little confusing to find the entrance, but once you’re in then it’s fabulous! 10/10 recommend the bluefin tuna????
- Nigiri is decent (inpropprtionate rice to fish ratio)
- sashimi quality is good but only able to order ONE piece and once only (doesn't come in pairs)
- orders take a long time to come out (about 50% longer than other AYCE restaurants that I've been to
- Customer service is subpar:
1. * Long hair waiter: never brought ginger or horseradish (had to walk 60' all the way to the front to get his attention to bring it after the 4th round of ordering!!)
*Busy talking with co-worker and rarely attends our table to take orders, fill water, or ask about the food or well-being
*forgot my order, messed up my table's order another time
*Informed me that the Del Coronado 'snow crab' roll was real snow crab but he was severely misinformed (should do homework before telling non-factual things)
*Said the beef teriyaki is tender but it was extremely chewy and low quality (slicing things thin doesn't improve texture if it's overcooked)
*A bit upset when he wasn't tipped for his outstanding service
*Besides that, he's nice
2. Another waitress: incorrectly stated that some items weren't allowed in the All-You-Can-Eat menu but I had to remind her by showing her the menu
