Location could not be better if you are into the museums. I walked everywhere or took a scooter. Union station was .5 miles. Walked to a Wizards game at Capital one arena. Wish the restaurant was less expensive and the 35 bucks a night hotel fee was a bummer. Still- I paid about 130 a night with the fee. Cheap for a 4 star hotel. Coffee on every floor was awesome! If you don’t like tech may not be the easiest to navigate. They held my luggage after checkout for 3 hrs for free. The staff was good. I have a hearing issue- veteran- lady got a little frustrated with me because I only hear about 2/3 of anything. My fault for not telling her. The gentleman who works evenings was polite and informative. Didn’t use the gym, but PF was in Chinatown. Close- walked.
For the cost and the location, this is an excellent hotel. A few notes about the room: The room was very hot and stuffy. You cannot set the thermostat below 65°F. Bathrooms did not have proper ventilation and smells/vapor would linger. Otherwise, room was very clean and modern. Lighting was very nice. TV worked great. Beds were far from what I'd expect from a hotel at this rate. Extremely comfortable and easy to adjust. Service from front staff was excellent and I liked the ease of checking in and out at a kiosk. With it's location a couple blocks away from the Capitol, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting DC to walk the mall and see the monuments and museums.
We came to the city for the ballet. After the show, dinner and drinks we were too tired to drive home and stayed at this hotel. It was a great price for a last min reservation. We checked in after midnight. The lobby and common areas were stylish and very clean. It's sleek, modern, and efficient. A great thoughtful use of space. The beds were very comfortable and even adjustable. The bathroom was very clean. We couldn't hear the neighboring rooms tv or anything. I was very impressed at the quality and attention to detail for the price. We checked out early in the am so did not stay for breakfast. We'll definitely stay here again on short trips to the city. Try it out. It was definitely a comfortable short stay.
I recently stayed at YOTEL in DC from December 8-14, and honestly, it was my worst hotel experience ever. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I noticed how outdated and cramped the space felt. The bar and kitchen close by 11 PM, and there wasn’t any warm welcome or help from the staff.
As for the room, I had booked a two-queen bed room, but it was super small and uncomfortable. The beds felt cramped, and there were just two tiny chairs to sit and work, which were far from ideal. The windows were old aluminum frames, and they would get all wet and cold at night, leaving condensation running down the glass. It was messy and uncomfortable.
The bathroom situation wasn’t much better – there was no fan or ventilation, so it would get smelly and stuffy quickly, making it tough to bear.
The only “luxury” feature they offered was a lighting control board, which honestly didn’t justify the price I paid for the room.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other options in DC that are more comfortable and welcoming. The location is convenient if you’re visiting the Capitol, but honestly, you can easily access public transportation from anywhere in the city without needing to stay so close.
Lastly, when I checked out, no one bothered to ask how my stay was or even say "thank you" for choosing the hotel. It really left a bad impression overall. Save your money and stay somewhere else!
Fast easy check in process with nice staff. Able to get into my room early was a bonus after early morning flight! |Fantastic location within minutes to Union station and Capitol Hill. |Rooms are quirky. Possibly not to everyone's taste. Shower and toilet have frosted glass doors. Shower is a cube off of the hallway so you step in and out of shower directly into the room . Ok if you're sharing with someone you really like! |Hairdryer, mini fridge, safe all in room. |Coffee station on each floor a bonus. |Had a caeser salad for dinner from the bistro, which was really disappointed with for the price. . Lettuce not cut up, a few shakes of dried bacon pieces and cold chicken. |My only criticism of the room is the bed sheet didn't fit mattress so came off constantly while sleeping, which was uncomfortable. |
The hotel is in one of the best locations in Washington, as it is very close to the Capitol. It is a preferred location as it is very close to the Mall and all the museums around the Mall. ||The rooms are of medium size and they are a clear 4 stars quality. The room furniture is quite modern and this is the first hotel where I have discovered electrical reclining beds. They are very convenient and confortable and they can help you increase the room size when you are not usin the bed. The bed, when fully flattened, occupies most part of the room and you have to squeeze a chair between the bed and the table.||There is no coffee machine/maker in the room and you cannot prepare not even a cup of tea. BUT, in the hallway, near the elevators, you have a big coffeee machine and an ice maker for your convenience. The coffee machine can prepare also decaf, if this is what you're looking after. ||Underground garrage parking is available but it is expensive. It is 50 USD/night if you don't take your car out and 80 USD/night if you plan multimple exits and entries.||The check-ins and check-outs are fully automated and you have machines on the left hand side of the reception and you can do your own process and the bill will be emailed to you afterwards.||The only negative that I have encountered at this hotel is that, becuase they are fully automated, they do not accept cash at the reception. Although the website is not mentioning any clear restriction regarding the cash payments, the reception refused to take cash for the room payment. I am of the opinion that the cash payment should not become a daily habit but also should not be refused.||Also, beware that the hotel is taking a safety deposit of 100 USD/night of stay as this seems to be the usual business habit for all hotels on the Northen American continent.||Also, beware when using your internation debit/credit card which is issued in your country of residence and which doesn't have behing a bank account in USD. Any other currency behind your card will be subject to currency exchange rates and taxes and that will be an added cost to your hotel stay.||Just to give you an example of the currency exchange loss magnitude, for a three nights stay at this hotel, the debit card was charged an additional 50 USD. So plan also for this cost.||Also, a little nuissance is that the room cleaning starts rattling the door handles of the rooms quite early in the morning so, if you seek not to be disturbed, don't forther to hand the sign outside the door.
It was a basic room, the adjustable bed was nice. The showers got hot but were very weak and it took forever to rinse off. There are also no washcloths on the property, they are not provided which was weird to me. At $300 a night they should at least be requestable. I won’t stay here again or recommend it as I’ve had much better experiences and amenities everywhere else.
The place is conveniently located from the mall and attractions. We also took the Metro so it was close. Rooms were adequate and updated for our needs. The front staff was nice. Like others have noted, there is a hidden facility/resort fee of $35 that doesn’t seem to have any obvious amenities attached to it. The roof deck and pool were closed due to the season. It was a surprise to see that added fee.
