One time, on the way to Disneyland, my husband and I took a detour through Stanton area and spotted a Yoshinoya. I’d never tried it in the US so after we got home, we found some coupons and decided to give it a shot.
The coupon was for Southern California locations only and offered two Combo Bowls for $14.75 (normally, one bowl costs around $10).
The Combo Bowl came with a thin layer of white rice, some cabbage, broccoli, and sliced carrots. You could choose two types of meat. I went for fried chicken (four pieces) and regular Teriyaki chicken, while my husband chose beef and Teriyaki chicken (Red ginger pack is free of charge.) The taste was definitely different from what I accustomed to in Asia. Let’s just say it wasn’t refined, but it was filling and the flavor was okay. (I’m not going to complain anything else since I used the coupon.)
I also tried a Thai milk tea with boba for $4.29. Honestly, the flavor wasn’t authentic, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
This Yoshinoya is on Beach Blvd. with a 7-11 on the corner, and maybe because of that, there were quite a few homelessness hanging around outside. My husband and I were followed by one who knocked our car door and asked for money. Sad to see this and I’m not really familiar with this area so I would just say be aware of your surroundings.

Food is a bit mediocre warm, not even hot clam chowder taste burnt, and the boba milk tea they gave me was messed up the first time they forgot the boba, and the 2nd they gave me no ice
This area and inside shop need to clean up. It looks kinda like ghetto with so much trash and puddle around. The inside shop need more frequent clean up too. I think it hard for the stain but you can see the dust and food piece and sauce stick to the table and chair.
The gyoza come out is very disappointed. It hard some area. There is so much burn mark instead of golden. What donthey learn from the training why the food come out like that. The new option chicken karaage is pretty good.
Can’t go wrong with Yoshinoya! This place is clean, fast service & good ambiance!
The cashier was ???? on it thanks again bud . Sorry I didn't get his name but he was very helpful to me seeing as I'm in a wheelchair he offered and then helped me with filling my beverage witch I call full service . Hey Yoshanoya give that guy a raise and whoever cooked and prepared my meal also needs a raise and hey I'm definitely not just saying that coming from someone who hasn't had but loves you're food and menu the cooked made my little chicken look so good it was picture quality and the taste to go with it . Just saying you guys font want to lose these to people.
I love Yoshinoya just not this location. I swear this is the only location that almost always gets my order wrong. I don’t know if they just don’t care or what. The only reason I come here once in a while is because this is the closest one to my residence.
Highly disappointed. They're using a quarter amount of the chicken now I had one broccoli one carrot it has half the amount of rice that used to have they don't use jasmine rice anymore and it tasted old and dry I waited 50 minutes to order 30 minutes to get my food and I drove home and they gave me the wrong chicken they give me habanero not teriyaki. And the coleslaw is very small for the price they're charging they might as well put in the container that's 1/4 of the size of the container that actually put it in. But stingy stingy stingy and all the employees were not happy no one was smiling they're acting like slow robots and ask for extra onions and they said I had to wait another 10 or 15 minutes because I'm using the pan we're drying burnt so they're adding these onions for the food and if somebody wants a side they had to remake it where's the quality control the management skills for the staff on top of that they don't have any more carrot cake. And the cashier was going to have me my drink I'm in a wheelchair and I noticed the cup was uneven but she looked at it and still handed to me and I know the lid will not fit. Management needs to clean house and fire everybody and hire a really productive crew whose 20 care about the corporation and the people who choose to eat there!!!
I was craving the food here because in Asia this fast food chain is super delicious. I got the combination protein. It was okay and not even closer to the tastes I was accustomed to. The service people was nice and my order came out quick.
