A combo lets you choose 2 proteins (beef/chicken) but the portions here are larger than in Taiwan. So if you’re not starving, a single bowl with 1 protein should be enough as serving size is generous. But the rice tends to be on the moist and soft side which is not to my liking.
Overall the prices are reasonable and it’s healthy meal option considered it’s vegetables included. Quick service. Plenty of seating, restrooms available, and convenient parking in the plaza.
Cheap, fast, and the beef is relatively yummy. The chicken isn't what it used to be. You don't get nicely sliced and pretty strips of chicken. It's more like dried out chunks of ripped chicken.
Not the best out there of course because it is supposed to be quick.
They are indeed fast at making the food.
Waited 5 minutes or less.
Price reflects but is great for the amount of food.
So ummm...I just came back from Tokyo, Japan and went to this Yoshinoya in the Bay Area and it just does not compare to the one in Japan. I'm spoiled now. I was missing Japan and had to come here and try it. The food was average but decently priced for what you get in America. Got their combo XL and you get their beef and chicken combo with steamed veggies. The chicken was good but was not grilled or crispy(no skin) and just drenched with sauce. The beef was fattier or chewier. Steamed veggies was plenty. Also while supplies last, additional $3 added chicken nuggets which was the only thing I really liked.
A fast food chain as we got our food fast. Plenty of tables here and it was pretty full like their private parking lot for a Saturday lunch. This fast food restaurant has been here awhile and needs updating. I was full from what I chose but was just not satisfied. Good even though for what you get, don't get me wrong. This would not be my first choice for my beef bowl meal though.
Do not eat here. I stopped by and ordered a bowl; however, I got very sick myself, and I couldn't sleep at night from how sick I got. I'm assuming the food was contaminated with bacteria, was not fresh, and whoever handled it was contaminated by an illness. Of course, food handling was incorrect and not sanitary.
I called Yoshinoya to report this so they could remedy the situation and, of course, so others don't get sick. But the cashier who picked up the phone was unprofessional and rude and claimed she didn't know when the manager was next. Again, don't eat here. You will get a bug and not be okay, and the business will be utterly
Pretty terrible Yoshinoya, nothing like in Japan. I'd suggest the Japanese market across the street if you want a gyudon, better and cheaper. The "Tokyo chicken" is just a very mild zangi.
Came here at weekday lunch time, got the gyu-don and Tokyo fried chicken side. Both were disappointing, I could barely taste anything other than salt in the gyudon, and the beef wasn’t tender. The chicken was also over-fried, stringy, and too salty. I gave up after eating one piece.
For the almost the same price you can a beef bowl and tempura from Marugame down the street and it’d be better…
I've been to many Yoshinoya restaurants here in California. And this lone Northern California outpost has the food that fans of this chain crave. However, this location needs to work on their customer service. The interior is a bit rundown as well.
