Best WLM Reviews

We loved this hotel! My family of four was visiting the Park for a few days and spent two nights here. The woman who worked at the front desk was attentive and lovely. The hotel was authentic and charming and the rooms were nice. We really appreciated the hot tub and the laundry as well. We also enjoyed the short walk to Lucky Buck. Overall, great experience. My one comment is that the rooms appeared clean, but when we were looking for something we lost, we looked behind the beds and unearthed clothes others' had left behind. Overall, this was our favorite of the four hotels we stayed in during our epic national park trip and with the proximity to Yosemite, we'd highly recommend!
We stayed in the cabin #609. It was perfect for 2 people. It was in the back behind the restaurant so it was nice and quiet. It had a cute porch in front with 2 sitting chairs. Bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. Close to entrance to Yosemite.
Basic rooms, fairly clean and right outside the west gate of Yosemite, so great location. The door to our room really had to be slammed shut to close well, but locked just fine. You can tell they have alot of tourists come through and have tried to cater to that. There is a quaint restaurant within walking distance that had decent food. After a long day of spectacular views at Yosemite, this was a fair place to stop for the night.
It's super-convenient for Yosemite-bound visitors approaching from the west such as San Francisco. The location is about 30 minutes drive away from the entrance to Yosemite. The lodge is clean, plenty of parking, with an outdoor (unheated) pool but which was still swim-worthy in September, plus an outdoor hot tub for 4 to 6 persons, a swing set and outdoor gym for kids. The TV had plenty of channels. Our room was extra-large with a lounge area and a separate bathroom and a warm shower. The staff was competent and professional. There is a nearby walkable restaurant next door (Lucky Buck's) which served classic Americana fare, such as burgers and chicken, reasonably priced.
Loved this place. Super clean, spacious and well thought out. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee and tea. A hair dryer and pullout makeup mirror. Closet with ironing board and luggage stand included. Plus a wall separating the sleeping area where the closet, sink and privacy bathroom are located.
Ample parking.
We were greeted with very rude room service and front desk when asked to fix the shower for hot water. We were told that our concerns did not matter as no one else in the building complained about this issue. AS IF THAT MATTERED. The shower ran cold the entire time and when the front desk lady came to check our room she did the exact same thing as we were doing and suddenly hot water came on. After she left the water returned to cold water but we we couldn't be bothered to switch rooms. Also the towels all smelled like funky Indian spices and there were bugs inside the bathroom. 1000% do not recommend this shady motel. And before they reply they will look into it, this stuff seems pretty regular looking back at old reviews dating a year back and nothing has changed. Don't believe the bought fake reviews.
I requested a check-in time for 10-11 PM - which was approved via Booking.com (without a fee) three weeks prior to my stay. I confirmed this check-in time via messages with the property the day before as well.
I arrived at 10:15 PM and used the phone outside the office to call the manager per instructions. The manager who responded to the window was very, very rude. I greeted him and apologized for arriving past closing time while explaining I was approved for late check-in, and he impatiently said, “Just give me your drivers license and credit card.” He walked away from the window with those items with no attempt at explaining where he was going. When he came back he threw a pen and paper at me and said, “Sign this paper.”
I looked down at the paper and saw the late fee assessed, with the $150 hotel deposit. I tried telling him again about the late fee but he cut me off and said, “I know, everything is fine, just sign the paper, there’s no late fee.” Normally I’d pay the nominal fee to avoid conflict but his attitude and demeanor was so incredibly condescending, I told him flat out I wouldn’t sign a paper I don’t agree to and showed him evidence in my emails that no fee was to be assessed.
He harrumphed, printed a new paper for me to sign without the late fee and shoved the key card into my hands. Again, no attempt at explaining where the room is or what facilities there are. I understand it was fifteen minutes past your office closure time but a simple “the room is over there” would have sufficed.
After a long, long day and trying to host an exhausted family who was from out of town, I felt incredibly sorry for the other visitors who probably would have had to deal with this manager. Avoid - he definitely lied to me about signing papers and intentionally didn’t explain basics like where he was walking away with my drivers license and credit card or even attempt explaining that he was charging a refundable deposit.
I am a petite, Asian woman, and I felt disrespected in that he saw me as an easy punching bag for his bad mood.
Just spent three nights in this nice place. Very clean, calm and comfy. The pool and spa is great, but should be cleaner ( had some bugs and leaves in it). An hour away from Yosemite Valley - was fine with us though
