Best WLM Reviews

I was so pleased with our stay here! There were many amenities we didn't have the time to explore but here are the highlights of the things we liked:||~Our room (192) was very close to by the adults only outside pool/hot tub/fire pit. A great way to end a long day of hiking. The balcony is a nice plus. |~There is a charming riverwalk/small beach across the street that has Adirondack chairs where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning|~If you want free coffee (there is also a pot in the room), you can bring one of the 4 mugs from your room down to the lobby and fill up there. |~The store in the lobby was very handy and had reasonable prices and options|~Staff was friendly and helpful (they helped us open our bottle of wine, we can no corkscrew)|~Proximity to Yosemite was great = 19miles/34 minutes (we were here after Labor Day)||I would definitely recommend.
Pleasantly surprised after some of the reviews on here. Room was lovely, no complaints, bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking. Gift shop closed early one evening due to technical issues which was a little annoying as we wanted some bits and it’s the middle of nowhere. Breakfast was good, again better than expected, buffet style. We didn’t use the restaurant or bar, or pools. Really cute little area down by the lake / river. Our room had a little deck area behind which was shared with other rooms, would’ve been nice if the fairy lights were on at night.
Probably the second hotel closest to Yosemite Valley.
The room is super spacious comparable to $200-300 hotels in cities (SF, Reno, Boston). My room also came with a balcony and I can enjoy a good sunny morning right in the room.
I didn't get to enjoy the swimming pool and game room as a solo hiker. But having cozy pools with fireplace to just sit around after a long hike is really nice.
Across the street is their river side garden which I also enjoyed.
Love the all white bedding.
I read some of the reviews complaining about room service and just want to update that I did get plastic cups and glazed china cups in the room. So this hotel is definitely listening to feedbacks.
We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Yosemite. Our room was okay. The bathroom seemed to be updated but there was a pretty strong odor of mold/mildew/must upon arrival. The bathroom sink had an odor and I am guessing the drain needed cleaned. When I washed my face I swear it smelled like rotten cantaloupe.
I know that sounds strange but that is what I smelled. It was not enough of a problem to not stay. The beds were comfortable and in general the room was okay. The sheets smelled clean but there were some small stains on the sheets. The air conditioner was pretty noisy but it worked so that was great. The air conditioner kept the room cool but it did seem to keep the room humid so I think it probably needed attention. There was some wallpaper peeling and I did struggle with the feeling that the room wasn't very clean. This was hard for me but my husband didn't seem to worry as much as me.
We enjoyed the beach they have for guests across the street.
All staff we encountered were extremely nice and helpful! This made up for the so-so room. The food at the neighboring restaurant was surprisingly good. I hadn't had high hopes. It definitely needs cleaned as well. The breakfast buffet was also yummy and a nice surprise. There was a great variety!
The little store had all we needed and was an added bonus.
Good to stay for one or two nights, not more. It is a basic hotel, it is close to the entrance but don’t expect anything more from it. The beds were okay, the rooms were old (even though refurbished) and the wallpaper was coming off the walls.
The staff was very very friendly, they were always smiling and asking if everything was okay. There is no service over there, but the WiFi is very good to be honest!
Can recommend if you don’t spend a lot of time at your hotel!
The “free coffee and tea” has a catch - you need to bring your own cups or buy cups from their gift shop. They say it’s in the spirit of saving the planet, yet have plenty of plastic straws and cutlery sets available next to the coffee.
No water fountain or jugs available to fill water bottles.
No elevator to the second floor rooms so be prepared to carry your luggage up.
Room was spacious and bed comfortable.
Pool was nice.
Great location close to the park entrance.
Didn’t have a great stay. Surprised by the high reviews so maybe it was just our room or time of year. We stayed in a room with the whirlpool so I’d at least avoid those if you plan to stay here. Overall, the hotel felt run down with superficial renovations and subpar service from staff.
Cons:
1) The room smelled strongly like mildew/mold 2) There was a dead cockroach on the floor
3) The toilet barely worked
4) Pillows are these bizarre half-sized pillows
5) TV reception was bad. Was told it was like that in all the rooms but dining room tv seemed to work fine.
6) Hot tub was broken
7) Restaurant food not great and the staff seemed miserable.
Pros: Cheaper than most places, but still overpriced. Close to park entrance. Neither of these are worth it.
My family arrived at Cedar Lodge when it was 110 degrees outside, so we greatly appreciated the strong AC that we were welcomed with! We stayed in the main building and had a cute balcony that overlooked the front area. We also had a full fridge and small microwave.||There are 2 outdoor and one indoor pool. We chose the main one, which was refreshing and clean. We had it to ourselves in the late afternoon while people were in the park, but others joined in later, as to be expected! We were very pleasantly surprised by the food in the bar and grill. Yes, it's bar food, but the portions were huge and it tasted great. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The lobby has a little market and souvenir shop, plus there is another market about 10 minutes up the street that sells gas as well.||There is a small beach area with lights and chairs across the street down by the river, and we enjoyed our time there as well.||It's such a cute place and only 15 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite!
