Food is ok, I don't get what the fuzz is about to be honest. And it's VERY PRICEY not worth it for the lack of flavor. Flavor is non existent, all I could taste was the grease, fish and chips lacked basic salt and pepper any other seasoning/ any spice.
Tartar sauce... it was basically just mayo :/
If you are into deep fry by all means this is your place. Area is kinda sketchy but I didn't mind that since good food is often found in weird places.
Customer service 10/10
Let's start with the food. The fish is big. 2 pieces was enough. The fries are also decent, I ordered the coleslaw and wasn't disappointed. We also ordered an order of the clams, and they are just strips and not the bellies. For the price it would have been nice, however the clams were not dried out so that is a plus. The dining area is simple and wasn't busy when we went at 11:30. Overall a bit pricey for the food but bad. Would eat here again if I was in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way.
My family and I have been coming here for 10+ years. The food is pricier than other fish and chip places, BUT it's worth it and good to support a small business!!
-The fish is always large strips and fried using peanut oil. Good serving size.
-Mushrooms and clam chowder is an excellent appetizer.
-Always kind employees! They once forget our mushrooms when we did take out. On the phone, they told us we could get them on the house next time. We came back 8+ months later and they honored it.
-Very popular and always busy.
-Expect a bit of a wait which I think is a good thing and shows that they fry it up fresh
Old school and low key Fish'n'chips join. Which is why I love this place. This was actually my late dad's favorite eatery. Your food is always made to order here. They come hot and tasty! Awesome crew too.
Unfortunately I was quite disappointed by Yorkshire Fish & Chips this evening. I would not recommend patronizing this establishment until significant changes are made to the menu and execution of the food.
The fry on the fish was good from a textural perspective; however, that is where any commendation ends. I cannot even say with certainty whether any salt was used on either the seafood or the fries, which I believe is crucial to good cuisine in general. Even after liberally applying salt to my serving, the batter itself lacks much flavor. Fish tasted fresh, fortunately.
The fries were a tremendous letdown. I have had better fries baked in an oven at home, and freezer fries are likely better than these. They were soggy and unseasoned. Considering that the chips constitute half of the meal and are generally a mainstay at any fish and chips establishment, it is an unacceptable blunder.
Service was fast, but curt and to the point. The building, kitchen, and restrooms were clean.
I believe that if the chips are seriously looked at by the EC and if seasoning as a whole is rethought, Yorkshire F&C has a chance to redeem itself.
Spectacular fish & chips!!! Tried the shrimp and also so good!!! You gotta splash some malt vinegar on there before dipping in the tartar sauce.
Simple menu, simple dining setting, but still cozy and comfortable.
If you Love a good fish and chip meal. DO NOT MISS OUT on this incredible establishment. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere but when it comes to what you are there for???? EAT. and eat well. Portions are generous and they never disappoint. You will be glad you stopped by. Tey a half dish of clams if you are up for a special treat!
The fried white fish is fantastic. Way better than a popular larger place that is closer to where I live. I've been to Great Britton 3 times, where fish and chips are their thing. The fish here couldn't even be improved upon.
