Had a lovely dinner at YOLO with 6 others. We ordered the following:
Monkey bread- soft pull apart pillow like bread with a tomato compote on top.
Szechuan calamari - yes please for the tender rings of lightly fried calamari with a sweet Szechuan drizzle, peanuts, scallions
Tuna tartare- so fresh, so flavorful
Tomahawk steak - carved table side - steak was to die for
Swordfish Milanese- best swordfish I’ve ever tasted
Donuts tower - mini munchkins either chocolate strawberry and vanilla dipping sauces - fun presentation
Will definitely return. Our waiter was extremely patient with us, the food was all super fresh and was delivered in a very timely fashion. We had a few issues with a couple mix ups on drink orders but the staff was awesome, manager came out and gave us Purse holders which was so nice and convenient. They have a great outdoor seating area which couches, you can sit and wait for your table with a cocktail! Lovely evening!
Wow, such a gem.
Everything from the appetisers, to the entrees, to the desserts . It was exactly what we could’ve asked for. We celebrated a birthday dinner and this was the perfect place to do it. I highly recommend booking reservations before getting there. The energy and the atmosphere are exactly what we could’ve asked for any occasion.
I can only give five stars because that’s the scale system, but I would rate this 10 out of 10
Five Star Review
????????????????????
“I celebrated my birthday at YOLO with my husband, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere cozy, and the music set the perfect mood for the evening. The food exceeded our expectations—every dish was delicious. Plus, the valet parking was super convenient, making the arrival easy. After dinner, we headed next door to dance, which rounded off a perfect night. Definitely a place I would recommend for any special occasion. We’ll be back soon!”
This is my favorite restaurant in Las Olas! Service was amazing and the food was even better. Best calamari I’ve ever had. Very welcoming to all. Bar is an option or make a reservation for your party. Everyone was very accommodating and kind. Truly looking forward to coming here again. Shoutout to the manager for making sure we had dessert and that my Auntie feels comfortable coming back with or without company. Well done! I highly recommend YOLO. 110/10
YOLO Restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and great service, making it a fun place for a night out. I ordered the Tomahawk steak, which was good, but it was quite expensive and, in my opinion, not entirely worth the high price. While it was cooked well and had great flavor, I’ve had similar quality at a more reasonable cost elsewhere.
That said, the rest of the menu was solid, and the cocktails were fantastic! The staff was attentive and made the experience enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great spot to enjoy with friends or for a special occasion, just be mindful of the premium pricing on certain items like the Tomahawk steak.
*** Upscale Fine Dining in a Nightclub-like Atmosphere ***
I would describe YOLO as a fine dining restaurant that meets a nightclub. If you enjoy exquisite cuisines in a nightclub-like setting, you will appreciate this establishment. The music is loud and trendy. They have a large open bar space located at the front of the restaurant.
The staff were all friendly for the most part. The hostess could've been more friendly but considering how crowded it was and how long the wait time was, I could tell she was flustered or frustrated.
Nevertheless, our waiter Jonathan was superb. He even comped our appetizer because he forgot to place the order. He made it a priority to check on us throughout our visit.
Overall the food was delicious. The salmon wasn't quite seasoned enough, however, everything else was delicious. The truffle fries and chimichurri steak were a big hit.
Our party of two spent about $140 which included drinks as well. So expect to spend some money.
They provide valet, street, and garage parking. I'm not sure if the valet was complimentary or not but we had to pay to park in the garage.
All in all, I would highly recommend giving YOLO a try if you're in the Ft Lauderdale area. Expect to wait a while before being seated, especially if it is the weekend.
4-Stars!
Over all, this was a good restaurant. I just wished that there wasn't so much restrictions. My twin friends wanted to celebrate their birthday at the Yolo restaurant. We got there early to decorate our table section and they were like "No confetti" ???? I understand, confettis are a bit messy, but you should also compromise with your customers. Cleaning up is part of the job. You shouldn't complain about cleaning up.
The food was great. Preparing the steak in front of us was awesome and it tasted very good.
What a disappointing experience. My Friend made a reservation for her birthday for Sunday brunch and it was such a terrible experience. First, we requested inside because of heat, and got steated in the half/outdoor bar area. It was incredibly hot and our group of ladies were uncomfortable the entire time. When we asked why we were seated there they said the restaurant was busy but we had no reservation from a month before. (Other parties were seated further in the restaurant where it was cooler) the manager told us that the ac was leaking and if we wanted it turned on… we didn’t even know how to answer that. Yes we wanted a/c. The wait staff treated us as if we were a hassle from the start. No introduction and then we felt like she single question we asked was a problem. It was very confusing and unfriendly. We then had to wait over 30 mins to put our order in and were neglected once we had. We ordered bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s and never got our second drinks in until 1 hour and 20 mins later. We had to request a different server when my friend asked for a new glass of water and our original server got angry because she had given her original glass to a different person at the table … very strange. Just being another glass of water would have solved the issue without the bizarre attitude we got after the request. It was an absolute awful experience. When we had our server switched the new server, Ivan, things got better but only because this server was such a sweet employee in-spite of the customer service environment he works in. My party really enjoyed his light nature and desire to make our experience a little bit better even if it was only for a few mins. Do not come to this restaurant if you want to enjoy a gathering with friends. They were very unwelcoming and the service was below the level you’d expect.
