Sushi was great. Rolled neatly and tasted fantastic for the price. BUT THE BEEF AND CHICKEN BOWL? It was so beyond dry that I could not even eat it. It’s so dry and smothered in a weird teriyaki sauce. Felt like I was trying to eat a wet blanket or something it was literally so terrible.
I love going to any Yogis Grill franchise in general. They all usually give the same amounts and quality, except this location. They give you half of what others give. Compare these 2 photos. The one salmon fillet is from bethany and 19th Ave, and the 2 fillets are from Metro Yogis. This location isn't charging less. They are charging the same for less!!
You guys are selling this salmon roll for 11 dollars? What a ripoff. There's hardly any fish in this. You can get much better quality pretty much anywhere for cheaper, this place needs an adjustment.
Staff was rude taking the order food tasted dry and old and way over cook gave us old rotten avocado like come on do better
Best location! Everyone is always friendly, food was fresh and flavorful loved it!!
Ugh, it's not hard being a cashier. There is no need to vent your frustrations onto the customer.
The store is very clean and it is usually empty — and the food is really good! Unfortunately, all that doesn't mean much when you have rude employees working the front of the store. You're lucky the food is delicious, otherwise I wouldn't come back.
This western hot spot is pretty good for a variety of quick, casual asian-themed foods! I loved that there's a variety of options in one location, and the place was neat and clean. Read the menu carefully and ask questions if unsure, because I totally misunderstood when I ordered something based on the picture, and not the description. Still, the staff was very friendly and helped me get the perfect side. I'm normally not one to waste food, but I did today, because it comes with so much rice.
So here's the breakdown.
Chicken Katsu Bowl: Comes with panko breaded, deep-fried teriyaki chicken and lots of rice (if you order it just like that)
You can order half rice/half veggies for just $1 more. I give this a solid 4 because the chicken was fried too long. Although it was still flavorful, the semi-charred panko tainted the flavor a bit and the chicken was as juicy as I prefer. Still the teriyaki sauce was delicious, and the rice was cooked perfectly.
The Steamed Veggies:
Oh my! They steam them to perfection. It was tenderness with a slight crunch, and I could taste each wonderful vegetable on it's own cause it was juicy it greasy. However, there was no salt or pepper or anything, I know this works for some people, but a little salt, spice, or acidic zest can't hurt anything in my opinion ???? Another 4!
The Service and Atmosphere: A solid 5! Chelsie's smile and light, friendly demeanor was delightful. I loved that you see everybody, because it gives the opportunity to thank the actual cooks for the food. Chelsie had solid menu recommendations, and knew what the area favorites were. Her input was very helpful to me as a first-timer! She was very polite, but not overly friendly, and it's always so refreshing to just see people in there natural element rather than forcing a smile.
The front area was very clean and even smelled nice, not just like food. Nice open floor, and great positioned windows for most of the day because the sun wasn't just straight through. Even so, it was cool and comfortable inside as well.
BONUS! This location is close to a few shopping stores, a bowling alley, and about half a mile from a light rail stop (Montebello & 19th Ave) so take yourself out and grab a bite!
Seriously disappointing food, save yourself some time and regret and go somewhere else. Food was burnt, did not come as advertised with veggies.
Only reason gets one star rather than 0 cause the customer service was decent and polite.
