Con: which is major for us
1. We could NOT shower because the water smelled SOOO BAD. rotten eggs sulfur smell. We could not bring ourselves to shower with it smelling so bad. The website should absolutely warn campers of this.
2. The arcade is a ripoff. We took pictures. Our daughter won 50 tickets on one spin and has 50 tickets from the day before. When she went to check her ticket balance it said 30! She was very upset and confused. The park posts a paper saying that they have no responsibility for the arcade games not working properly.
3. We were placed next to an interstate. Honestly, this is dangerous. If there were an accident off the interstate, someone could be injured it’s that close and barriers. Along the perimeter of the site, there was empty airplane bottles and trash. If they are going to have these prices, then people stuck next to the interstate should be given a substantial discount.
4. The lights were out in several areas that the kids activities were taking place for in the evening. One of the jump pillows was deflated.
5. The putt putt clubs were needing new grips.
6. The bathrooms were okay. But looked like they weren’t being cleaned or swept properly.
7. The prices were insane. Most everything in the store had a mark up of 50-100% or more.
Pros:
Fun activities that kids do enjoy.
Our family had a great time visiting Jellystone Park in Barton Lake, IN. It was the first time the kids have been there and the first time in a long time that the rest of us had been there, let alone camping. We stayed in a cabin with bunks in one room and a queen size bed in the front room. It was surprisingly clean when we arrived and we tried our best to keep it that way. The kids had so much fun with all of the different things to do. We watched a movie, played mini-golf, and of course spent ample time at the water park, among other activities. We will definitely come again. :)
Amazing campground with amazing staff and the best camping vacation we had to date. The park was amazing with tons of activities for our younger children. The pools, water slides, and water park were all great and still had room even when the park was full. The planned activities kept our kids busy and they enjoyed those as well. Nice camp store and also a place to grab some food although we did not get anything so I’m unsure how extensive the menu is. Overall, excellent campground and we will return.
Our family had the best time this past summer. We booked 2 trips this year and will be doing the same next summer. There is so much to do and the staff is great. We are big fans of the craft shed throughout our stay. The staff in there; Brandi, Brycen and Jaycee are so extremely patient. As families spend some time selecting what they want to do and kids changing their minds while making those selections and the lines grow longer and longer, those 3 keep their cool, don't rush you and are so kind.
I remember Brandi every time we camp, she's always there patiently helping the kids.
We took our two boys here twice this summer. They are ages 3 and 5. We rented the glamping cabin, and the rustic cabin. Both are great and would stay in either one again. We love how many different things there are to do here especially for young kids. I would recommend renting a golf cart. Not just for convenience, but also the boys loved driving that thing around everywhere . Candy bar bingo was a blast! See ya next summer!!
We just returned home from our second time at Jellystone, Barton Lake. We traveled from Ontario, Canada after coming across this location online. Last year, 2023, was our first experience and our family of 6 all had a blast! This year we went for double the time and it was still just as great. The water park, mini golf, jumping pillow, seeing the bears, bingo nights, dance parties, crafts, paddle boating, and swimming in multiple pools were just the start of all our favourite things to do. The restaurant selling pizza saved us from having to go get groceries for dinner one night and the kids got to play even longer at the water park. We also love that on those rainy days there are still things to do between the indoor swimming pool, arcade, store, restaurant, and doing crafts in the craft shed. We will definitely be regular customers going forward. Highly recommend!
Overall 5 star experience. Our kids love the camp store and the ranger station covers all basic needs you might forget. Our family stayed in cabins while we stayed in our RV and the cabins were very nice! Only suggestion would be later hours for the ranger station on week nights in particular. Overall great experience, as always!
Our family is young, so vacationing is always a hassle. That is, until we found Jellystone Barton Lake! It was in close proximity to our home, so the commute was great. The first time we went, we were blown away with how clean and polished the location was. Our cabin was perfect, the pool options are endless, activities for our kids kept us busy, and all around it made for a perfect family getaway for a much more reasonable price. We’ve been back since, and immediately plan to come back each year! It’s perfect for our family! Thank you, Jellystone, for being a part of making memories for our family!
