The beds are so comfy. Yes it is dated but clean. Buffet was amazing. The front desk was very friendly. It could use power washing outside but it is still an amazing place. The lobby is so cool. We will definitely stay again. we rented the suite which was awesome because we had 8 in our group. Used it as a place to meet and watch football and other things.
The hotel lobby is stunning to say the least, its design gives a cozy and warm vibe. Since the rooms aren't as close, we drove to ours which wasn't a problem at all as there's clear signs on the buildings and the staff gave easy instructions along with a map. The rooms are a bit outdated and could use with some renovations. However, everything was clean and working. We all agreed the highlight of our stay were definitely the beds. They were firm but comfortable. I for sure had the best night's sleep I'd had in a while. The next morning we decided to walk to the restaurant for breakfast which was a little tricky but we managed to get there. Breakfast was okay but could improve. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back in the future.
Positively, the bed was very comfortable and the AC kept the room nice and cool I. The Texas heat! The conference center where the reunion was held was very nice and accompanied all of us very nicely!
However, this hotel was not worth the $159 per night we paid to attend a family reunion at the hotel! The photos online seemed warm and inviting, like it would be worth the extra expense, but it was far from desirable! First, they charge you $25 for "incidentals," which boosted the price of the room from what we expected. I understand it, they are just protecting themselves from vandals, but when you walk into the room and find a lounge chair that is definitely broken and leans to one side, I took a photos and went back to the office to show them the chair was broken and I didn't want to get a bill later on after I left paying for the broken chair!!
Then, later that night, I went to get ice from the ice machine. It looks like it's been there awhile as it's rusted out in areas. When the ice melted overnight, we found dirt specks in the ice bucket, as well.
After the first night, we hung the maid service sign in the door and headed out for the day. When we returned, the sign was still on the door and nothing had been done in the room. When I went to the front desk, they said the maids usually ignored the signs and that we needed to tell the front desk if we wanted service!? Why have the signs, then?
In the bathroom, the shower curtain didn't even cover the whole shower! Furthermore, the water spout could literally be moved back and forth and was not secured to the wall with caulk! For what they charge for this room, it was far from worth it and will not be something I recommend to anyone!
I stayed here from a recommendation and I was thoroughly impressed. The staff was very friendly and personable, and whether I walked up to the front desk or called on the phone they held the same level of friendliness. We were given a map to show us how to get to our room, which really helped as it was storming so we weren’t left guessing and getting rained on. I loved that the entrance to our rooms was through an indoor hallway, and the balcony was relaxing to sit on with a nice view of the inner courtyard and pool area without getting rained on. The location was very clean and absolutely gorgeous. I will definitely recommend this place to others, and want to travel back just for the atmosphere alone.
What a joke!! Stayed here for a national Motorcycle Rally and to say we were underwhelmed would be a major understatement. The rooms are dingy at best and the bathrooms put
My girlfriend in bed for a week with toxic mold exposure. Don’t even consider staying here if you are sensitive to mold of dust/dirt. We asked for our room to be serviced and it never happened. I will go out Of my way to avoid staying anywhere these people are involved with. VERY Disappointed and Feeling ripped off. Don’t Worry, I won’t ever mess with this part of Texas again.
Family - simple away from this hotel
1. The Room was not cleaned properly, smelled bad.
2. The Room looks very old with old accessories and the entire building itself is too old
3. Bathroom’s exhaust fan didn’t worked.
4. When we asked to clean the room after a day, they barely cleaned our room.
5. Not much lighting inside. Room is almost dark and 2 tiny lights, tiny Owen, tiny refrigerator it can’t even fit if you few items. No sink inside the room.
6. Swimming pool is tiny.
7. They have a board written no glass/alcohol inside swimming pool, but people all the time drink inside the swimming pool with barrels of alcohol. Family and kids cannot go even inside.
8. No other games like board games or any. Worst for family.
9. Pool table is only for the people who drink in bar.
10. There is no proper basketball court, dirty tennis court.
11. Bad service overall.
Our room was not bad except my mattress has had a bit of wear and tear. It needs to be rotated because I sunk when I sat on the edge...like dozens of people had done before.
The hallway had a bit of a musty smell but it is an old hotel
Rooms seemed old but clean. They have a bar with happy hour, but only have one bartender and no other help. This place hosts large groups, but do not have the working staff to handle the crowd. Waited 20 minutes just to order one beer.
