Dining out for dinner in the winter months in Socorro has limited options as many of the restaurants close early. I spoke with the manager at one place and he said ever since Covid, the majority of diners came in during the daytime.
So we were glad we found Yo Mama's Grill on the first night we were in town. They serve until 8pm most nights so we arrived around 6:30 and were quickly seated. They were doing a brisk business with almost every table taken. The staff were friendly, hostess seated us and our server soon arrived with menus and to take drink orders. I will warn you, the place can be rather loud when it is full of happy customers but that was ok with us.
We all decided to forego an appetizer, even though they all sounded great, but ordered our entrees instead. It didn't take long and salads were soon on the table, which we quickly enjoyed and then they whisked our entrees out of the kitchen to our table, piping hot and carefully plated.
We tried the Rib Eye steak, grilled perfectly, a large salad topped with chunks of their fried chicken, grilled salmon over rice and some steak brochettes with grilled veggies over rice. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine!
When in Socorro I highly recommend Yo Mama's for a good meal!
Was looking for a quick bite while heading south, and I found this gem! This place was great, was met at the door and seated right away. Three boys and I were hungry, and this place did not disappoint! I had the Bosque Burger and the boys got yo mama's burger and chicken strips... I was not expecting the kick of the Lemitar Green Chile! Finally a place that doesn't water down the green chile and allow me to burn a hole in my face as I feel necessary! Can't wait to eat here again! Did I mention the chips salsa and queso? Perfect starter!
First time dining at Yo Mama's restaurant in Socorro NM, and our family really enjoyed our experience. The staff are friendly and the food is really tasty. Our waitress said that they serve green chile grown in Lemitar NM. I must say if you like your chile HOT, then this place is for you. I recommend the green chile chicken breast.
Blackened shrimp Alfredo and it it came with a very fresh light salad. I had this 5 years ago when I came for training. The meal was as good as I remembered. I will return anytime I pass through Socorro.
We were driving through the area and planned to stay overnight at a friend's house. We were tired from driving from Phoenix and decided to get some takeout and relax. I looked on Google Maps to see what restaurants were near us... Yo Mama's Grill stood out and the Turkey Avocado Sandwich sounded good. We used the Curbside Service. Our food was ready very quickly and the smells wafting from the large bag were great. We couldn't wait to get home and eat. The Avocado was perfectly ripe and it was a nice complement to the turkey. Added some fries and we enjoyed a delicious dinner. Stop by when you're in the area and enjoy some great food.

Whenever I go to a local restaurant that has house made potato chips I normally try them. These were by far the best I have ever had! Great texture, not overly done with seasoning, crisp and tasted like good potato chips. I enjoyed them so much I got 2 orders to go to take back to my room.
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Consistent good food, seriously the best burgers in town and just have never had any issues with our meals. My ONLY complaint is their dessert. We decided to try something new and got a piece of the chocolate cake and it was just clearly an old piece of cake. Taste was not there and for $6 we got such a tiny piece! I was shocked to see it because everything else here has been phenomenal. I don’t understand how they would be ok with serving this when everything else is top notch. This could have been an off day and everyone should always live their own experiences, no matter what we will always support this great establishment but probably will stay away from their cake ????
Had an incredible experience at this establishment. We were served personally by the owner, Deidra, who welcomed us with nothing but the finest New Mexico hospitality! The staff was fantastic and the food was delicious. We had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and it was a homerun. The poured ice cold beers at the full service bar were heavenly. Yo mamas is a place that feels like home and welcomes everyone, and especially appreciates first responders. If you are in the area, you need to come to make this a prioritized stop
