Very impressive. I am a visitor here, with nation wide membership. This facility is the best overall that I have been to. What gives the highest rating is all the benefits that it offers while you are using the facility, with no additional cost. I t is clean and updated. Ther are always minor things that can be repaired. However overall it is great value for the dollars spent.
Mt 1st experience with them was subpar but excusable. Second incident with them I could not make excuses for them. To make a long story short my son who can't swim almost drowned in their drop off homeschool class. He was placed in a swim test line without my approval or knowledge. My son said he was told to get in the libe to be a le to get in the pool. The staff was more concerned about politely placing the blame on each other and the director over the ymca did not seem to care at all when it was brought to her attention. I was not able to view the incident report and I have doubts one was ever filed. If I was not there when he almost drowned they would have swept the entire incident under the rug to cover their butts. I'm very disappointed in their actions and overall lack of care. The entire situation is ridiculously to me and after reading the other child care incidents I'm not surprised anymore. If they keep sweeping things under the rug and not making necessary changes to ensure our children's safety something horrible is bound to happen from their negligence.
Uggh... I hate to throw any shade at the Y. I think they're doing a good job for what they do. But all I can say is, it certainly wasn't for me.
The staff are courteous enough. The facility is clean enough.
But they seem to be missing the intangibles that make for a great workout experience. The weight room is really all I care about, and it is just not great. The colors/ambiance are dull and uninspiring to a workout. It just looks like a "facility", like a hospital, school, or prison. It doesn't make me want to be there. There is no music playing. I have no idea why. This further saps the energy out of the room.
While they have a large selection of machines, it's awkward using them because they seem to always be taken. And if you catch a free one, you really need to have been eyeing it for a bit beforehand to make sure someone isn't just between sets or getting a quick water. So it leaves you with an awkward feeling.
There aren't enough of the machines to satisfy the demand, esp. the squat racks.
I usually start with a couple laps around the track as a warmup. At times the air in there has been so humid and stifling. Not sure how clean, fresh, cool air isn't a top priority. Usually it was decent enough, however.
I decided one day to try out some other "features", so I went to the pool. It was already at max capacity. So I decided I'd try out the whirlpool. It was maxed out. I decided I'd try the sauna... same thing: full.
There is just nothing about this place that "calls to me". I quit while I still had a week left on my membership and couldn't even force myself to go. If the membership was free, I still wouldn't go back.
Now in all fairness, I know several neighbors who go there and are satisfied with it. But I did not enjoy my time there one iota. (It's probably just me.)
Love this place!
Exercise, play ball , ride stationary bike, walk, swim ,shower all in 1 building +++ much more. I recommend this place highly.
There's so much to do for all my kids that still involves them being active and having fun in the process. Whether it's swimming in the pool, running on the inside track or playing basketball which my son's happen to prefer most of all. The staff is always friendly and goes above and beyond to help out any time I've needed help. It's a true gem that keeps this mom of 3 sane and healthy as well with the personal training!
Came to visit hoping to check out the gym and get a 1 day guest pass but no such thing exists here. Was told to get a full blown membership or get out. No tour no nothing. Don't waste your time here.
way too expensive considering it's not a 24/7 gym. the staff could definitely use some training in courtesy and respect. the amenities are fantastic and everything is very clean, but it doesn't justify the cost. i cannot recommend a membership here because there's cheaper, more viable options nearby. i can however recommend the pool for occasional use.
Very, very clean, well organized and friendly helpful staff!! Our favorite Y to go to!! Coed sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Wished they had these in the ladies dressing area or somewhere else just for ladies separated from the men. Aside from that, we enjoy this facility.
