Best WLM Reviews

Been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally did! I was pleasantly surprised at how good this food was. I ordered the Jollof rice and grilled chicken with a side of green beans. I also so got some puff puffs while I waited. I honestly can’t put into words how good it was but I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.
I ordered the egusi soup and it was made incorrectly. When I let the manager know she explained it was shipped from another location and there was nothing they can do. She then proceeded to throw my food in the trash can and when she realized the mistake she wasn’t willing to do anything to fix the situation outside of giving me an apology and sending me on my way. I felt like I was completely robbed and will not be coming back
We were in the mood for authentic African food, and we weren't disappointed by the chef. The restaurant is Ghanaian owned.
We had the fufu and soup, grilled and fried chicken, sweet potato fries, and rice.
All were freshly prepared, so a little patience is warranted. But the wait is certainly worth it.
We will definitely be back.
Me and my nephew stopped her for a bite. The atmosphere was very chill. The location is not big so I would not recommend a large party. Our meals were average price and good. The chicken stew is mildly spicy but tolerable for people like me who doesn't like spicy food.
Oxtail stew was rich and delicious.
Samosa were crispy and flavorful. The spice level was perfect. I look forward to trying more dishes here.
5/5/24 The bean stew is an amazing vegan dish along with pounded yam, fufu. The flavor and spice were perfect compliments to the palette! Sopping up the stew juice with a big pinch of fufu made all of my senses happy!!
This was the first time I've tried African food. I had the Vegan Spinach Stew. Aside from the excessive grease/oil floating on the top, it was a very well-balanced and flavorful stew. I loved it and would definitely order it again. It was a nice sized portion. ????????
We waited 2 hours for our food. I went in several times to check on the status of our orders, and I was told 10 more minutes several times, which would have been fine had our food not been cold and stale, and I not been missing items. At this point what did we wait for! It was obvious there was no communication going on because the cashier was clueless as to what we had ordered when I went back in the second time. Not only did we wait forever, but they were out of several items I ordered, and had the ordacity to just put a random side they found fit to give to me. They knowingly and purposely put it in there because when I asked about it they said the cabbage wasn't done cooking yet; again, wouldn't have been an issue had you communicated that to me before hand. Upon asking for a refund, I was refused because he said the side they randomly gave me came with my order; the best he could do was switch it out( mind you this was after they tried to pull a fast one on me thinking I wasn't going to check my order). Had he been paying attention, he'd known I ordered an extra side he could have just refunded me back for that and took his broccoli with him. After alI this nonsense, I had to remind him I had a drink and ask for the sauces I ordered with my food because they shorted me that too. Normally I try to support local; I genuinely liked this place, but y'all are always unnecessarily struggling. Communication and planning seems to always be an issue because items are always missing or out of stock. The cold, inedible food was the icing on the cake.
Located on a little strip of stores, parking can be tough but i mean it is norfolk. Walked in got seated right away, food took alil time but man. That Egusi is straight fire. I forgot all about the wait at that point. Their was one waitress and she was slammed but super sweet. I've had the fried chicken and the grilled and the grilled is better somehow but both are amazing. Just writing this makes me want more.
