Yen King is definitely the best Chinese food in Jackson area. Been there a few times and always been great . Our last visit was a little different though. We ordered crab Rangoon and they were served not fully cooked. We brought it to our servers attention and she insisted that they were fine but then offered to cook them longer. When she brought them back there was still some uncooked areas.Its not shown in the picture though since the uncooked areas is in the middle. The egg rolls are the best ,< so good.
Best Chinese food I've ever had -love it! I wish they'd do buffet style events so I could try other dishes (maybe they do and I just haven't learned yet). The menus don't give details of what's in the dishes, so would love to taste test and learn what the dishes are. I like that you can order spicy level or without sauces. Dishes are not slopped together - they take the time and do quality hospitality.
This place is a hidden gem! We loved the Pu Pu Platter (for two). It had a good amount of options to try. I highly recommend it.
We tried the Yen King Chicken (amazing - slightly spicy), Princess Chicken (similar to Kungpao but so much better), and Moo Shui Chicken (best dish! Goes best with fried rice and no pancakes).
Overall, a great dinner place! Highly recommend it!
I’ve lived in southern Michigan for 14 years and this is the best Chinese place I’ve found thus far, with a close second being one in Kalamazoo. Everything I’ve had here is delicious! The chicken is crispy, the sauce is perfect, and even the hot and sour soup, which has been lackluster at other restaurants, has a bold delicious flavor! Many people call this a hidden gem and I absolutely agree. I usually only go to Jackson on business and when I do I try to go out of my way to eat here!
First time I’ve ordered and wasn’t satisfied. Sadly the food was old. Crab Rangoon rubbery. Princess prawns taste of old onions and refry. I’m disappointed. I come here because of the freshness! The spring rolls were decent.
This place has a very cozy atmosphere. The food and drinks were quick and the food was delicious. I had the potstickers and an egg roll. The tried the love potion drink and if you like bananas I definitely recommend ????
Great place. Walked from where I was staying, put in my order in person, and was out in 15 minutes. When I was there, the dining room was open. Beautiful sculptures. Very good food. The Almond Boneless was one of the best I've had. Nice portion. Good price. Glad I stopped in.
We ate our evening meal. Had more then enough to have a whole other meal. Our order was taken quickly and the food was hot and delicious. My husband had the sweet and sour chicken. Nice big chunks of breaded chicken. Breading was very crispy. I had green onion beef. Tender pieces of beef strips on top onion greens. We will definitely return and would recommend it.
5/23/2019 moved to Florida. We made time to stop and have supper with the family. Our waiter was very attentive. So glad to visit again.
