Best WLM Reviews
Went to Yen Ching for the first time today, I'll definitely be going again. We went with a Chinese friend who suggested it as the best Chinese restaurant he's been to in the area. He was absolutely right. I tried chicken feet for the first time, and really liked them. We had several dim sum and tried a few different entrees. The food was amazing, and the service was awesome!!
Lots of selections on the menu and appreciate some pictures. The menu is a bit sticky and service is slow but food is good with small portions for the price. I did appreciate that the soup and food were served hot.
The food here was good - I got the sweet and sour and was not disappointed. Same as the crab rangoons… they were so good. Potstickers were just as good! The service was good, but they did appear to be understaffed which is unfortunate for them. Portions are huge! Overall, good place, but there is another place i’d say is better
I have been here a few times and the food is always amazing. I enjoyed the fried rice, black bean noodles, orange chicken and crab Rangoon. I also had a cocktail that was very tasty. This most recent time I went it took over an hour to get our food. The waitress was very polite.
The most yummiest Chinese food in Idaho! It's busy for a reason! Definitely recommend ????
One of the best sweet & sour chickens I've had in forever! They used real pineapple ????
We were looking for a good traditional Dim Sum place and unfortunately this isn’t the place. Their Siu Mai was too gamey which I’ve never had this happen.Har Gow (Hai Kow) was ok. I’m not sure I’ll be back. Perhaps the rest of their selections are better but this was disappointing. The place also doesn’t open until noon on Sunday so don’t plan on a Breakfast Dim Sum. I’ll wait to go back to Portland or China Town in San Jose or SF for this type of food. It’s also close to $8 per small plate so expect to pay a significant amount.
Food definitely left something to be desired. I had high hopes for this place after trying a few other restaurants around and reading the reviews. Flavor was decent and the service was good. But the meat was stringy and tough in some parts of the dish and the rice was hard and soft with mixed consistency. It seems like maybe I got the last of a prior batch of food and then some of the next batch mixed in.
Hopefully next time will be better. It was ok but Id hoped for more. I will try again in the future
We had a big family gathering at Yen Ching for mother's day. None of my husband side of the family ever dine at Yen Ching, and they wanted to experience Chinese Cuisine. The service was extremely slow, and the foods weren't as good as I had expected. My husband had to find the servers for drinks, utensils, napkins, and he ended up serving ourselves. We thought it was mother's day, but the restaurant was not packed. We all were joking and laughing about the service because we didn't receive any service after we ordered the foods. My husband was our server for the entire meal. At the end of the meal, my husband went to find one of the servers for our bill. Yen Ching added 20% gratuity to the entire bill. None of us thinks the servers deserve 20% gratuity because none of them served us. My husband did all the serving. My husband talked to the server. She went to find the owner. The owner came and he said:
"You know why you guys didn't receive any service today. Six months ago you guys were here and you left with very little tips. I remember you guys, and I told my people not to serve you guys."
We all were furious! What an insult to us! There were 12 people had never dine at Yen Ching before, and they all told the owner this was the first time and also the last time they would come to this restaurant. The owner was so mad and he crossed out the 20% gratuity and left. We paid cash and left with one penny tips. That's the last time I dine at Yen Ching.
