Went here on Easter! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very peaceful with warm colors. I got the Crispy Honey Shrimp which was probably the best dish at the table! My sister thought her Shrimp Chow Mein was okay, but not enough flavor. A big shoutout to the Hot & Sour soup! It was so good and helped clear out my sinuses! My mom got some type of beef dish with PERFECTLY cooked asparagus. My dad ordered a decked out dish with 3 different meats. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Good portions! We had to take a bunch home with us.
Overall, the atmosphere was excellent here. We went on a Sunday at 11:30 am. We were seated right away by a very friendly host. The waitress arrived quickly with water. Our drinks took about 5 minutes to arrive and our food arrived quickly after that. The restaurant crowd built quickly. There were 2 servers and the host so it seemed a bit busy for them. Our food arrived and was plated nicely. The temperature was warm, but not hot. The flavors were very good. The chicken was cooked well, but the veggies were under done, but I can look past the crunchy onions, carrots, a green peppers.
Overall, nice place and flavorful food, a tad under staffed and rushed. Very reasonable price for the amount of food. We will come here again.
I was initially drawn to Yen Ching from the photos of the inside, I love the character it has. The staff was also very polite.
Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the tofu dish and spring rolls I ordered. The tofu dish was pretty bland besides a buffalo wing taste. The spring rolls also seemed to have some meat in them, which I was not expecting, and the flavors didn’t do much for me.
My two dishes came to near $30 with tax and tip, which seems steep to me considering that the quality of the food didn’t especially blow me away.
The food is always excellent at this restaurant. The most authentic Chinese you can get! Highly recommend. The staff is great and let us know about a malfunction in the kitchen so the wait for food was a little longer than usual but we'll worth the wait.
I was rushed to come get my food. Also for the amount I paid I expected to get a good portion, however I was wrong. I opened my container and only had about 5 pieces of broccoli. Had high hopes but unfortunately I won’t be back.
The best Chinese food I've had in decades! A little pricey,but I don't mind paying for quality. Fried rice,double cooked pork, ribs, hot and sour soup were excellent. The chicken wings were meaty and had good flavor , but they weren't cooked crispy as I like them.... still deserves 5 stars!
A wonderful staple in Richmond, Virginia for decades. Always perfect in all aspects. Delightful food, huge selection, fantastic ambiance, great service, wonderful people. Go and enjoy!
I always like this place for lunch, which consistently runs about $20 total. The decor is nice, the staff is friendly, the food is good and served quickly. Multiple vegetarian options and they will happily add tofu if you like.
