We brought our trailer and stayed there. The patio was really neat, it was cement, so not a lot of dirt and mud tracked into the trailer. The fire pit was clean when we got there. The store was pretty cool and had everything we needed and at a decent price, too. We did the mining dirt with the kids and got some cool gemstones. The location was ideal and right next to town, and the entrance to Yellowstone. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. We will definitely be going there again.
Overall very nice campground. Friendly staff. Clean. Proximity to town & gas good. Really needs more lighting. Took dog for walk in back of park: pitch blackness at night..can’t see AT ALL! (We were in trailer at 109 at front..nice spot.) I’d ask for spot 101-108 or 144-148! Would be nice to put just a few, regular, secured trash cans around the property. (Also, ask outdoor breakfast guy to lower the music early in the morning, please.)
It wasn’t too far from Yellowstone, and the facilities were generally good. There were enough shower facilities, and there was a simple area for doing dishes. The playground was well-maintained, so it was great for kids to run around and play. However, the swimming pool needs better water quality management, as it was quite dirty. I would strongly suggest that they improve the pool maintenance. The staff seemed to work hard, and overall, it was a decent place to stay.
Check in was very easy and smooth. Greeter was friendly and provided good, reliable recommendations for dinner. Escorter took us to our sight. Restrooms were clean and well lit. Our sight was not as level as we would have liked. Perhaps occasional grading? Also, our sight did not have an evening night light. Very quiet… we liked the dual purpose grill and campfire enclosure. That would be helpful for setting up after dark. Overall, a pleasant experience.
Perfect spot for a Yellowstone family adventure!
We just wrapped up an amazing trip to Yellowstone with our friends, both families staying at West Gate KOA. It was the perfect base camp for exploring the park, but what really made a difference was the staff's helpfulness!
We mentioned we were two families traveling together and wanted to be close to each other. Hunter at the front desk did his best to accommodate, but it was Sam who came to the rescue. He found us two RV spots right next to each other, which made our whole vacation so much better. The kids could play together freely, and the evenings around the campfire were even more fun.
The campground itself was great - clean facilities, friendly staff, and all the amenities we needed. But Sam's extra effort to get us those side-by-side spots really took things to the next level. Huge thanks to him for making our Yellowstone adventure unforgettable!
Location! Moments away from Yellowstone and a beautiful setting to camp. We had site 329 and it was spacious and shaded. The staff were friendly, store well stocked (but expensive!) and laundry room clean and spacious. The playground and pool were loved by our kids. The area that needs improvement are the bathrooms and showers…outdated and very dirty.
This was an excellent location to get to Yellowstone. The campsite was great and all of the staff were extremely nice. The store, laundry, restrooms, and coffee/ice cream shack were all nice and clean. Definitely a place for families with plenty to do. Not the place for you if you want tranquility. We were awakened early every morning and kept up late with all the hustle and bustle as our campsite was very close to the main building.
My family stayed here for 5 days last week. What a wonderful place and excellent location! The staff were very friendly. We were tent camping and our site was very close to a shower house. The facility also offers a camp kitchen, which made doing the dishes much easier. My kids loved the playground, pool, jump pad, and the peddle cars. They are already asking when we’re going to go back!
