Best WLM Reviews
We had our company Christmas party at yellow dog cafe and everything was perfect! Amanda and Mary did an amazing job with handling the large party! I had the salmon w lobster saffron cream sauce, rice, and green beans. For dessert I had the bread pudding and it was the best I've ever tasted. Highly recommend yellow dog and ask for Amanda or Mary. The owner also came over and introduced himself and personally signed a copy of his cookbook!
My Husband picked this place for our anniversary. There were so many good reviews from people who were treated so well at YD for their special occasion, he figured it would be a nice place to have our anniversary dinner. Let's start with the good - we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and were promptly seated with a view of the river. The restaurant was not very busy and it was quiet and intimate for us. The food while expensive was a good portion size and the presentation was on point. My husband enjoyed his meatloaf and the risotto that came with my salmon was great. The bread was also good, warm and soft. Unfortunately that is where the good ends. My salmon was dry and needed seasoning. The meatball appetizer tasted like they were previously frozen and then just covered in barbecue sauce. Our server brought our drinks and preceeded to walk away without asking if we would like to order an appetizer. I had to call her back in order to do so. She also did not take the time to tell us about the apparent specials they have, yet she spent an enormous amount of time going over them to the table behind us who we figured out were regular visitors to YD. We had already ordered our meals, but it would have been nice to know about the specials. I guess she gives regulars better service than new patrons. I had to tell the gentleman who cleaned the tables that we would like one of our dishes wrapped up to go. It should have been our server, but she was too busy with her regulars. My husband was so disappointed in the service that he will never go to YD again. We skipped dessert as well. Our anniversary dinner at YD was a failure. I wish the Dove III was still open. They knew how to make a special occasion truly wonderful. It's unfortunate that because of a bad server, new patrons that could have become regulars will never eat there again.
I wish I could give The Yellow Dog Café more than 5 stars. This was the best dining experience one could ask for. If I had to sum it up into one word it would be: tasteful. Everything was tasteful. From the professional, respectful, kind and fantastic server (special shout out Cassy!), to the decor/interior, the food, drinks and the views. Everything was so elegant. Every aspect of this dining experience was amazing. The valet staff was also very courteous and professional as well. I was so impressed with this establishment and will certainly be a returning customer. I will also be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know.
So let me start out with our fabulous server Mary ! She has the bubbly personality and fantastic customer relatability . Very professional and friendly. She knows her job and it showed throughout our visit . The appetizers were amazing escargot and conch fritters were on point . Salads perfect amount of everything . Snapper was cooked to perfection . 2 of us had shrimp Louisiana and schnitzel and spetzele. All timed perfectly and all food hot and delicious. Highly recommend this place and if you are lucky enough to ask for Mary or have her . She is the best . Thank you for a fine dining experience
I have been here a few times now and every time, I am blown away. I have been to fine dining in big cities like Orlando, and nothing has topped Yellow Dog. The staff are so friendly and attentive, everyone has always had a great grasp of the menu. Everything I have ever ordered is so good. This is where you can experience fine dining and surely leave full because the portions are very filling.
Some favorites: tomatoes & burrata, crab bisque (DIVINE!), scallops & risotto, all of their desserts.
Wish I could give 6 stars for service. My first time here was a great experience all the way from pulling up to the incredibly nice Valet to our very attentive server, Hayden. He provided top notch service.
Beef tips, Caesar salad and coconut dessert were all amazing.
We will def be back after such great experience!
The Salmon and caviar appetizer was so good (pictured)! The fried cod and potato puffs were delicious. The cod was perfectly cooked. My husband had the jagerschnitzel and it was a robust serving and moist and tender. Service was exceptional with pristine white table cloths on the tables. Choose the valet option for any easy parking option. Well worth it! The view of the Indian River was an added bonus!
If I could give ten stars for every category I would, but since I can’t, I have to articulate what exactly made everything so amazing. POV: table of four friends for dinner. Firstly, the valet is a very nice touch, you’re graciously escorted out of the car and to the door. Second, our server, Kelly, was absolutely a delight- she truly helped to make the meal an experience, impressively attentive, superbly knowledgeable about the dishes and what pairs well with them, and even offered suggestion how to reheat the leftovers and what protein to prepare AND how to prepare that protein with our leftovers for tomorrow! What a five star experience, I cannot rave enough about it right now. I will absolutelyyyyy be bringing friends here locals and out of towners. Thank you Kelly and Stuart (the owner) for an exceptional experience and meal!!!
For reference, my photos show the black garlic mushroom pate with Parmesan crostini, the 6oz filet mignon (from the dogs of summer menu), and the dessert tray, and the portrait of the owner and his yellow dog :)
