Yechon’s ambiance is a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional charm. The decor, featuring warm wooden tones and delicate Korean motifs, creates an inviting and cozy atmosphere. Whether you’re seated at a table or in one of the more intimate booths, the setting is conducive to both casual dinners and special celebrations.
Service:
The service at Yechon is exemplary. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the cuisine they serve. They are always ready to provide recommendations and explain the nuances of the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Food:
Appetizers:
The journey begins with an array of banchan, small side dishes that are both delightful and varied. Each visit offers a different selection, from spicy kimchi to savory pickled vegetables, setting the stage for what’s to come.
Main Courses:
The menu is extensive, catering to a wide range of palates. The Galbi (grilled marinated short ribs) is a standout, with tender, flavorful meat that melts in your mouth. The Bibimbap, a rice dish topped with vegetables, beef, and a perfectly fried egg, is both visually stunning and delicious. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.
For those seeking a communal dining experience, the Korean BBQ is a must-try. Cooking your own meat at the table is both fun and engaging, and the quality of the cuts, from beef to pork, is top-notch. The accompanying dipping sauces and sides perfectly complement the grilled meats, creating a balanced and satisfying meal.
The Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew) is robust and hearty, with a deep, rich broth that showcases the fermented goodness of the kimchi. The Sundubu Jjigae (soft tofu stew) is another highlight, offering a comforting and spicy warmth that is perfect for any time of year.
Despite the high quality of the food and service, Yechon remains reasonably priced. The portions are generous, ensuring that you leave both satisfied and with the feeling that you’ve experienced true value for money.
This is the most authentic Korean restaurant you can get in the area. I enjoyed the sushi rolls and the Korean pancake especially. The bulgogi beef that was cooked and served right at the table was my favourite dish. The meat is very tender and tasty. The waiters are also very friendly and helpful and they all dressed in Korean traditional wear. Highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic experience!
This is definitely my comfort restaurant. My mom and I have been visiting this restaurant since I was in middle school. They have super authentic Korean food and it always hits the spot. The seafood pancake is super crispy and the cold noodles are perfect. The variety of meats they offer is also always fresh! Their side dishes are very flavorful and tastes homemade. The prices have definitely gone up a lot since inflation, but it is definitely worth it. If you do want to visit the restaurant, I would recommend calling to make an appointment ahead of time since they are always very busy.
The place is packed & busy! Given that service was brief however they are as polite as a busy person can be. Food was delicious, plenty of options to choose from. They have table side grill which is what we went for it was a decent size not your usual all you can eat. Overall a decent visit.
This is our go to place for korean food! We've tried almost 1/3 of the menu and have been here at least a few times a year for the past 10 years. We love the food and love that they give so many of the side dishes. If you come with a group and end up ordering a lot of dishes, you'll end up with A LOT of side dishes, and they all taste different from each other!
Have been going to this place for over 20 years, it was great back in the day but gets worse every time I go. Had the Galbi Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap, there wasn't enough meat to even taste it and it was diced up into tiny little bits, apparently in an effort to reduce food cost I would guess. My wife's seafood stew had just a few clams, small shrimp, and a small piece of fish. Both dishes were $20 each. The kimchi was good and varied as always. We ordered a seafood pancake but it was under cooked. Water is bottled warm water from Costco. They used to serve quarters of oranges back in the day as a pallet cleanser at the end of the meal, during covid that got substituted with a small prepackaged yogurt drink from H-Mart, now they don't even do that. With drink's and tip we spent $100 and it's just not worth it, it's been this way the last 3-4 times we've gone. I think next time we are in Annadale we'll try somewhere else.
The food is always excellent. I had as an appetizer White Tuna Sashimi. If you have never had it, you need to try it. It’s sweet and tender. The side dishes were fresh and tasty. I had seafood tofu soup. Wonderful after a long day. Servers are attentive and nice. Plenty of parking & conveniently located inside the beltway.
