I came in for small knotless , and my Braider gave me small knots box braids which is not Knotless. She also had a young girl who is now learning to braid finish my hair so they can start the head of new walk-in. Sorry, will not be returning.
Very rude! They was acting as if they didn’t understand what i saying and then started talking about me amongst themselves as if i didn’t hear what they was saying. Had me sitting the chair for 15 min going back and forth with me instead of getting supplies to do my hair! I shied her pictures multiple times and she still was acting like she didn’t understand me.
Service as fantastic, first time going. Definitely my new braid shop.
Do not go here if you value your edges. I have gone before for twists. The price was good so I went back to get my box braids. The woman who braided my hair seemed to not know anything about caring for hair. I asked her to put a lot of my hair and less of the weave (I have very thick hair) in each braid. She was very sloppy and actually a lot my real hair was hanging of the braid (luckily I stopped her before she did the "clean up" trim or she would of cut off my actual hair. ) a couple of weeks into wearing my braids I noticed she had braided a tiny bit of hair into a huge braid and it was starting to slip . This morning I woke up with the braid in my hair. It had broken off my real hair. It should be common sense if you put a tiny piece of hair in a giant braid it will not be able to support that weight.
The owner seems like a really lovely person but she hires people who are not very good. It is a good chance you will get someone in your hair who will mess up your edges and maybe even permanently damage your hair
Beware if you want to keep all of your hair on your head, they are VERY unprofessional i called ahead of time to get my hair braided. I went there and they had me sit there, wasting my time, and because I asked for my hair to be done neatly everybody refused to do my hair that’s a ????for me. Instead of telling me that nobody wants to do my hair because I asked for it to be done neatly, she had me sitting there wasting my time until I asked her who’s gonna do my hair that’s, when she told me nobody want to do my hair because I asked for it to be done neatly, huh? are you kidding me!!!! never again first and last time coming here. if I could give them 0 stars I would Period.
Very unprofessional. Place looks gross, they don’t sanitize tools, and most of the stylist have attitudes, I am not even sure my Braider was licensed. Starting with customer service; when you have a simple request (I.e. be gentle on edges) my stylist ignored me and acted as if I was being difficult. I ask for knotless and the lady could not do it on my hair based on the texture and proceeded to do traditional knot braids without explaining to me if I was okay with that. My stylist also proceeded to yell at the top of her lunges while doing my hair because she had an intense argument with another stylist for 5-10 minutes. Next dishonesty: They increase charges based on how you look. Especially when I am in ear shot. A lady got knotless braids with beads on the end, it was Mid back and it was $150. With hair included. I asked her because I was interested in the style she then adds $20 to the price and says the beads are extra. I usually say it’s okay because African Salons can be rough around the edges and hold my tongue because prices are good but the price is the same at nicer salons so that is no longer an excuse. Our people should and can be better. This establishment is disgraceful and they should get their act together. Have a price for everyone and don’t switch up, take customer service classes, your customer are your friends not your adversary, listen to your customers request, focus on cleanliness and sanitation of tools, focus on the health of people’s edges. There is too much competition elsewhere for them to charging HIGH prices while acting like this.
I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. They talk very loud, eat while doing your hair, use and speak on the phone and all of this while braiding your hair. If you speak up about it, you are met with nasty attitudes like you did something wrong. Most of the people there don’t know how to braid and be speaking about you to others. I spoke up about the hair dresser talking and eating and not focusing on my hair and she proceeded to cut my hair out without caring or looking at what she was doing. Also, after being inconvenienced several hours they still charged me full price for someone to fix and finish my hair. NEVER again, and I will make a formal complaint to 311.
These hardworking women are incredible! The atmosphere they bring is a family environment where they fulfill your desired hair style and do it for undeniable prices! My first experience there was yesterday and I'll never forget how they complimented and boosted my energy once my boxbraided hair was all done, these women are pros and I can't wait to try another style with them!
