I stopped in for the 1st and last time. Beef patty was not good at all for $6.00. I had to take 2 bites just to get some meat. Any through the rest in trash. More bread than anything. The only thing that was good was the imported Jamaican Pineapple Ginger soda
My wife and I was not pleased with the food, especially for the price we paid. We really could've gone to Cookout with $25 and got RIGHT! I got curry goat, and she got Oxtails. The meat was kinda tough, not flavorful and there was way more bones than meat. The mac and cheese was decent but overall, I've had way better jamaican food from other states. Definitely disappointing.
This is the Caribbean food i grew up on.There is alot of time and care that is put into the food that comes from Yard. The jerk chicken is super Duper tender and flavorful. The Curry shrimp is loaded with shrimp and the most delicious Curry. THE MAC AND CHEESE ???? I even got the soup that kicked my colds a$$ better than any medication. Yard is a gem and well worth your dollar. And speaking of dollar you get your money's worth!!!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would they definitely gave us old food! The jerk chicken was not jerk chicken. It was some fried chicken that was left over so they threw sauce on it. My fish was old! They even threw in three containers of macaroni and cheese that did in order. I guess trying to get rid of it. Nasty will never order from them again.
Service is questionable! I had several on-line orders without a problem. I placed an online order yesterday, I was being treated like I was cashing a $10,000 check! Although I stated my first and last name several times, I was informed that a 16 digit receipt code was all of a sudden required. Since my first and last name was insufficient I should have presented a valid photo ID. Then I was told I could get the food that I paid for “this time”! It’s a NO for me!
I decided to try them through "To good to go"! Very disappointed and I understand why they have 3.6 on the site. They are supposed to take the leftovers and individually box the items up. I was presented with a brown box with everything mixed together in that one box. Can you imagine the Mac, rice, some meat veggies all scrape into a box like slop. Very animal leftovers, very slave scraps, very not it.
Wow been in Charlotte for 6 years and this is my first time eating from here. Definitely been missing out, my meal was absolutely delicious. I got the brown stew chicken and it came with plantains, cabbage, rice and beans and a drink all for $10. The portion size was not lacking at all. I also got a side of Mac n cheese for $3. All my food was still very warm when I got home. That brown stew chicken is Thee Bomb. Very flavorful and fall off the bone. The plantains were some of the best I’ve had. I really enjoyed the cabbage. Many places I’ve had the cabbage usually be bland, this cabbage had flava. The rice and peas were plentiful and good also. The Mac and cheese was pretty good. Everything was 5 stars for me prices, portion, taste, freshness, the service, and although it’s not a sit in restaurant the place was clean and welcoming inside. Probably should have taken pic of food before I ate, but this was my leftovers after dinner which will be another meal for lunch or dinner tomorrow.
