Best WLM Reviews
Pleased with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The food, however, left us a bit disappointed. We had the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with onion rings. The food was hot and fast, but our chicken was tough and drowning in a pineapple type jelly that was extremely excessive and sweet. Onion rings were large and crispy, but were not house made. We may be back, but we will try something else.
We were driving through for lunch..I had a yarburger with bacon.. it was delicious with the unusual to me spiral potatoes. We had a delicious salsa that is special made at the location. The meal stuffed me enough to not need dinner. Service was very kind as my
lovely wife couldn't decide what to order, but Lauren offered great choices. We will return the next time we are passing through.
Visited lunch time during the week and they have daily lunch specials. Lucked out and Wednesday special is the fried shrimp basket which comes with tons of fries, about half a dozen hush puppies and about a dozen shrimp fried crispy. Batter was delicious too. Service was quick too. I always come here for the lunch specials. Spent less than $20 even with a 25% tip. Can’t beat that and I also took an entire box full of food. I’m a light eater so this doubles as dinner too.
Indoor and outdoor seating available - some with swings as your chair. Nice view. The restaurant wasn't busy. Greeted in a decent timeframe when we sat down. We ordered water and fried mushrooms as an appetizer. It took over 5 minutes to get the water. The mushrooms took about 20 minutes. I ordered the flounder sandwich with broccoli instead of a bun. My husband ordered the pot roast. It took 45 minutes to get our meals. The flounder was more breading than fish. The broccoli and fries were ok. Not a fan of the coleslaw. My husband said his meal was mediocre.
We sat on the upstairs patio as we were told to sit where we wanted when we walked in. Service was a little slow considering the house volume was low but we were patient. Then we never got an appetizer we ordered. But the waitress made up for it later and apologized for the mix up. And, even tho, the family seated upstairs with us had a rambunctious toddler darting around screaming and being screamed at, the view was stunning. The breeze was nice. The servers were nice and the cook or manager maybe served the food to us and followed up to ask if everything was good. It was fabulous! We had chicken Alfredo, a burger and a fried chicken sandwich (omg so good). We ordered dessert to go and got a free piece of key lime pie for the appetizer mishap. Overall, worth the stop!
Food was a bit better than fast food but not by much. The description of the Yarburger on the menu was a definite exaggeration of what I received at my table. It was a simple burger with a small meat patty and did not impress. The service was adequate but all the staff seemed distracted and not well trained. The inside is colorful and had a pirate/sea theme motif.
We also got a fried seafood platter and it was good. Two margaritas and two jack and cokes had us close to $100 with tip.
I would select another sea food place on my next trip to town.
We had breakfast and both orders were good. The view and decor can't be beat. Staff was polite and our food was out in minutes. Will definitely be coming back
We found Yarbaritas by chance and decided to have lunch here when we were visiting family in Rockport. It's in a very nice location, overlooking the water and a very upscale neighborhood with elaborate homes. The entire ambiance is laser focused on the 'Beach Bar' vibe, with a double decker outdoor patio complete with beach swings on the lower level.
Inside also has beach swings positioned behind single tables facing the window. They're interesting, however, it's a bit odd to sit at single tables lined up next to each other if you're with a group. Regardless, the inside continues beach decor throughout the entire restaurant.
The food was good, not spectacular, but certainly not below par. The menu has a pretty good spectrum of choices, which is nice if you want a beach bar that serves food outside of the seafood genre. The service, on the other hand, was marginal. There weren't more than three or four tables of people, yet it took 45min to get our fish tacos and chicken salad. They also didn't know what balsamic vinaigrette was, despite it being on the menu, and it took them three trips to the back to figure it out. That being said, service comes and goes. It may have been someone training, who knows...
All and all, it's a decent place to go to if you're looking to kill time.
