After driving by for so many years, we stopped in for dinner and tried their Saturday steak special. The steak was so flavorful and tender. The staff were kind and knowledgeable of the food and drinks. I am so sad that we spent so many years driving past and missing out on such a fantastic place. I definitely recommend stopping in and trying their food. Can't wait to go back.
I ate with 3 people. My wife and son. His birthday so he recieved a complimentary dessert. My Chicago style smoked brisket with giadeniera and cheese with au jiu was better than in Chicago. The smoked brisket was to die for! Smashed potatoes with sour creme were good. The au jiu was delicious also. We had appetizers (chips with queso dip), drinks were a cab, 3 Heffin-Weizen's, and a Mule...and the complimentary Apple Crisp. cost was $114.58 plus tip.
The service was great! Matty was a great server, gregarious and upbeat. And another gentleman walked around making sure our table was free of empty dishes and what not.
We WILL be back!
I ordered cheese curds, the Chicago brisket sandwich, and tater tots. The curds were good, but I would have liked them a little more crisp. Great flavor, and the dipping sauce, some kind of avocado verde, was a bit hot/spicy, just enough to contrast with the 'coolness' of the avocado.
I hadn't realized that the peppers on the sandwich were HOT, and my mouth was on fire, and I had tears trying to fall, as I tried to eat the otherwise very tasty sandwich. Staff came by and noticed the state I was in, and made me a new sandwich, sans peppers. THAT was delicious! And they let my Bonus Kid take the first sandwich home; he had no problem with hot and spicy!
The tater tots were perfect, crispy outside and soft inside.
I'd been wanting to stop at Yankee Tavern for years, and I'm so glad I finally did! Every time I've passed by, the parking lot has had many cars; always busy. I will be back again, to try more of their menu. And I will be reading the menu much more closely, and requesting no hot peppers.

The food was alright. The worst part of our night was the service. Our waitress never checked in with us when we had our appetizer or our meal. She was also not friendly at all. There was only two people that looked like they were working. The bus boy was great at taking our plates when we were done with the appetizer and our meal. It only was sitting on our table for maybe 5 mins. We will not be coming again because of the service.
We will be back. Fun find for lunch date.
Great menu. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Great cocktail menu. Loved my mule. The street tacos and shrimp tacos were amazing!! I loved the lighting and atmosphere.
Great place to eat! My husband and I are from out of town and this place was close to our hotel. We have our usual spots when we come to town and wanted something new. So glad we chose Yankee Tavern! It was delicious and our server, Maggie was top notch! She was the best! She recommended some great dishes and brought us some delicious tacos to try. The French dip…..yummy!!! Highly recommend. Ask for Maggie for your server! Great job! ????????
Food isn't bad at all and the vibe is pretty cool, calm, relaxing. I prefer their breakfast over everything else they have. Their bacon could be better.... Thick bacon is the best. Its good, not great..... I wouldn't go out my way to come back.
Food was decent, the drinks were tasty, the atmosphere was fun, and our waitress was good. I would have given 4 stars, except I had sauce dumped down my back by a server. It was an accident, and I did receive my meal for free, and the server brought towels and water for me to clean my shirt with. However, my shirt and pants were permanently stained.
