The room was better than I expected. Maybe it was just the off season, but the room was very quiet! I didn't hear any other guests. Beds were comfortable. The sliding barn door to the bathroom did squeak when we closed it, but not a problem. No housekeeping for the 3 nights we stayed, but that was not a problem. Maybe I didn't notice that in the small print when I booked. We didn't use any of the amenities besides the free coffee in the lobby, which was not bad. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area and using just as a base to explore. Not a destination in itself, but I would not hesitate to book again.
The only thing saving this place is the friendly lady who checked us in and the fact that its centrally located. We booked a room with a balcony and a tub and we ended up on the first floor with a shower, fine we can live with that. The room we received though, is stale and filthy. There are stains on the floor and there is a tip envelope for house keeping covered in grease stains- they dont even offer room service if you stay multiple nights. The entire building smells like someone hasn't taken the garbage out in a month and is in dire need of a deep clean and some repairs; even the floor board radiators are falling off in the halls. It just seems like no one actually cares for this property. We planned on staying here for several nights but we will be checking out tomorrow morning to find a more suitable place to stay for the remainder of our trip.
EDIT- it's now 11:45 pm a Wednesday night and there is a literal party going on upstairs and no staff on premises to speak to about this. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Do not stay here.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Very secluded and MOSTLY quiet. For the price, I think it's a great deal. For the price, it was ok. We just wanted an indoor pool and a place to sleep and shower. We were gone most of the days doing stuff with the kids.
**Owner response says they stay open until 8/10 on weekends. My first night there was told lobby closes at 5 to grab things beforehand but never actually checked. We did switch rooms 1x and when rechecking in, it would be pointless to move our room to a third one for one night.**
Positive: The location & moving us to a better room until we felt safe with a working phone. Two ways out of room. And cleaner, and a working smoke detector. Negative: Being a senior they put us in a room we had to climb a small rocky hill to get into. The room had no smoke detectors. It was filthy! You couldn?t get out of the room the door stuck. No working phone to call the desk to get out of the room. Did move us.
You get what you pay for is exactly the point with this place. It is nasty, carpets are gross and un vacuumed, bathroom has questionable spots everywhere, fridge isn’t cleaned, bedding has spots and specks of stuff in it. The rooms are absolutely terrible hence the price and you will hear the complete conversation of anyone in the room next to yours. Will not stay again even for the price. Only snapped a couple photos in the bathroom but you get the point. Pool was also closed without prior notice to booking.
It’s in a good location, but there is barely any room service, and zero room service at night for emergency. The showers were hardly cleaned, and the pool was over chlorinated. They advertised queen sized beds and were provided full sized instead. It’s partially renovated, which the owners are very proud of, but there is still much improvement to be done. It’s also over ridden with spiders.
Positive: Location was close to shopping area and restaurant options. Negative: Room wasn?t all that clean, dirty socks from previous guest. Locking mechanism on the bathroom door wasn?t functioning. Pool was shutdown ?due to adding chemical?. No breakfast in the morning. Front desk wasn?t even open.
This place has a lot of potential. We stayed 2 night and for price during summer, you could beat it. Rug in the room was stained and the place needs a face lift but the owners are doing renovations so we are looking forward to staying there next year.
