Journey was our SUPER waitress ~ she was so kind & helpful. It was like we were BFFs or something right off the get go!
We had always ate at the hibachi side ~ we decided we liked the sushi side better.
The food, as usual, was delish!! I've ALWAYS loved that there's such big big portions that I can have like 3 meals out of one plate.
1000000/10 would recommend! Ask for Journey ~ she’s a blessing for sure!
Two in our party and joined 4 others for hibachi grill. Wife and I shared shrimp tempura roll. For lunch we had steak and shrimp with fried rice and vegetables. They offered a $2 upgrade to filet Mignon over strip steak and I highly suggest this option. Steak had a wonderful flavor and was ultimately tender and delicious. It was my wife’s birthday and they surprised her with a pineapple boat desert. Chef was great hibachi cooking and was entertaining.
Good service and the place was clean and tidy. Lunch specials come with soup and salad. The salmon set was delicious with decent slices of salmon. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy and was somewhat warm inside while eating my meal.
Me and my husband went last night for the first time and the food and service were amazing . The server never let our drinks go empty .. was sweet and funny! The food came out hot and fresh also and tasted great! Definitely would recommend!!
We have always enjoyed Yamato!! Great food and always fresh fish. Pretty cool there was an artist in the house. This is definitely one of our go to spots in Tyler!! Service is always on point and resturant is always clean!! Price is comparable to other places in the area.
Walking it shows a dim laid back surrounding. The hostess was quite friendly and promptly seated me. The server was friendly and answered my questions regarding the menu items. I ordered pepper tuna and a smoked salmon roll. Complimentary chicken stock soup and ginger dressing salad arrived shortly after I placed my order. The soup was as expected. Chicken stock soup. I can't testify to the taste of the salad. It became take out for my wife at home. The pepper tuna had about 3 tablespoons of rice topped with the tuna. The plate came with 2. $8 seemed a little steep for the quantity. Taste was average. The smoked salmon had grainy rice.
Our company chose to have our Christmas Party @ Yamato. Everything was as wonderful as expected. I didn't 'love' our seating arrangement, but all was well.
The food was great, as awell as the service. I'm glad we chose Yamato for this occasion.
Yamato has always been my favorite hibachi place in Tyler. My husband and I went for lunch today and to start off this horrible experience, it took over 30 minutes for the guy to even begin cooking even though we were the only table in the hibachi area.
As soon as he put the rice on our plates I see a roach scurry across the table in front of our plates. My husband grabs a napkin and gets it. He then goes and shows the manager discreetly. I know….this is the risk you take when eating out ???? and that’s when we should have gotten up and walked out but me being me…I didn’t want to cause a scene.
So then as our food continues to be cooked I notice a bloody bandaid stuck to the bottom of the salt shaker the cook was using. Again my husband went and discreetly told the manager as we didn’t want to embarrass the cook in front of the other people that had been seated at our table. The manager responds with “he did cut himself this morning. I’ve already taken half off of your meal” and proceeded to make excuses for the roach.
