One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. The food here is truly amazing. Hibachi steak is delicious. Salad with ginger dressing is very good and always fresh. The sushi is excellent. Service can be up and down depending on who your server is. Over all I’d highly recommend this place.
We’ve been spoiled by NYC and west coast. Tried all the highly recommended sushi places around GSO and this is the winner so far. The fish tastes very fresh. The roles are gigantic and a challenge to get into your mouth, but on the bright side that = healthy portions and good value. Give them a try! The ninja roll, jackpot sushi, shumai were all great.
This was absolutely an amazing experience and the food was so wonderful. I have never liked crab but my son wanted us to try these dragon balls and they are almost the best thing I’ve ever tasted. And the staff was beyond the typical friendly waitress. The place looked really clean and beautiful with the Japanese memorabilia. Here’s a picture of the dragon balls.
W????W! Excellent quality, great taste, with a nice variety. Today we had the Kani Salad to start and it was very refreshing. We added the Samet and Crazy Crab rolls (pictured here) and they are large enough for two people and tasted delicious. Janelle served us and was very attentive and responsive. If you are in the mood for great sushi in a great clean environment (see pictures) try them out!
I was a fan, enjoyed a great meal just 48 hours ago, until they decided to show their biases and blatantly lie to my son about job openings. There is a HUGE sign in their window stating they ARE hiring, yet it is clearly based on their prejudices. They told him they were NOT hiring. When I called 30 minutes after my son left and let me know what they told him, I asked if they were hiring and they said yes. I asked what positions needed to be filled and was told they were needed a cashier and a server. When I called them out on what they told my son, they tried to cover up the first lie with another stating he was never there. It's almost 2025. Why is this still happening? They will not see another penny from me. DO BETTER!!

Thank you for your response, however, you need to re-read my review as you failed to address to fact that my son was told your restaurant was NOT HIRING by TWO PEOPLE, so, no, there would not be an application from him. This incident happened Sunday evening. Address your staff regarding your policy of no discrimination and not just having a sign stating it. Be it.
This is one of my favorite Japanese spots. The quality of food you receive for the price is amazing. All of the sushi roll are delicious! Any food that I have ever gotten here has been almost perfect. The place is clean and the staff is nice. What more could you ask for? I would highly recommend Yamato to anyone!
Very calm and quiet atmosphere and also romantic to take your significant other and your family as well
Have been coming to this place for 6 years and absolutely love it. The food is a never a disappointment. The best hibachi and sushi in the triad and always at a great price. The service never misses either. Highly recommend to any and everyone.
