Best WLM Reviews

Food was good, music was too loud to actually enjoy the good food.
All the dishes have generous portion.
- Greek omelette was huge, goes great with feta cheese. I wish the dish comes up with something more refreshing than fries though. A bit too much for brunch.
- Lamb chop was cooked to perfection, noting to complain.
- Hummus platter was great, Hummus was our favorite, I can do without the olive one and spicy feta.
The restaurant is beautiful, but they started blasting music at around noon time with very loud bass, so it went far from a relaxing Sunday brunch fast. The staff are definitely enjoying the live music and I don’t blame them. Maybe tune down the bass next time? And we will definitely be back.
Birthday girl review, y'all!
Ok, the food was good. The hummus appetizer platter was amazing.
The rest was a little salty. However, it was good.
The atmosphere was wonderful it's beautiful inside and out. We had a party of 7 and the staff was amazing.
They played good music and we had wonderful mimosas. It was perfect. It is pricey, but the portion sizes are huge.
First time dining at Yamas after hearing how great it is from my friends. I went on my actual birthday and while several other tables had groups of servers singing/wishing them happy birthday, I did not. I felt gypped and quite sad! No one went out of their way to celebrate me. This is why I’m wary of going to new restaurants on my birthday - you potentially don’t get any special treatment because you’re coming in without a pre-built relationship with any servers or owners.
Food was excellent, service was good, atmosphere was not my favorite (very loud and it was hard to hold a conversation).
You cannot go wrong with the food and drinks here. I love the creative twists on classic cocktails to make them Greek-inspired! And the food was amazing- sampler platters, calamari, grape leaves, short rib pasta, filet mignon skewers, tuna tartare, and the grilled shrimp. I ordered the shrimp and specifically asked if they keep the heads on. If they say yes, I order it! If you haven’t tried grilled shrimp with heads, just try it once. I love how crispy & flavorful those shrimp legs can get.
I don’t know if I’ll return. I loved the food but I don’t like how I wasn’t celebrated on my birthday. There was no happy birthday or a free dessert. I definitely wasn’t mistreated but no one went out of their way to celebrate my birthday and that I chose this restaurant to visit on my birthday wasn’t appreciated.
Had an amazing birthday dinner here. Service was great and attentive and we were seated for our reservation right away. The food was very good and came out fresh. They did well with my tree nut allergy ( greatly appreciated). The mojito cocktail was tasty, I also enjoyed the romaine/lemon salad. The chicken kebab was also delicious-I highly recommend. I will say… the portions are very big! We had lots to take home for 2 people- soup, salad, and 2 entrees. Worth the money and the restaurant is BEAUTIFUL.
Yamas is perfect for a group dinner and cocktails. The food is excellent, and the service is great. We loved the atmosphere and were happy to find a Greek restaurant this good in north Austin. Highly recommended!
Yamas was absolutely brilliant. From the hostess to the server. First of all, as soon as you go to the entrance you feel your in Greece ✨ Every single detail of the restaurant is stunning and unique. Oliver was my server and he was outstanding, very professional, absolute polite and knew all the dishes to the point. His recommendations were excellent. I loved everything about my experience. 100% recommend the halibut ceviche, the pastitsio, the grilled branzino with lemon potatoes absolutely delicious. For drinks I recommend the Artemis spritz & Santorini Mule.
Went to Yamas to catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while because we both love Greek food and this was on our list.
In terms of ambiance, it feels like a cute, intimate Greek restaurant inside and on the patio. But it is loud. It was like a loud party where you need to constantly shout when the music volume rises, which happened often because everyone seemed to be celebrating a birthday. It must have been everyone’s birthday on the Tuesday night we were there because every 5 minutes, the birthday song was blasting over the speakers and they were delivering a sparkler based dessert to another table. I wish I was exaggerating but it was pretty regular. Our server said when people see the sparkler come out, there would inevitably be another table who says, “oh, it’s also my birthday”.
The food and drinks, while a little pricey, were really good. I started with the Artemis Spritz and I cannot recommend it enough. A little bubbly and very refreshing. I want to learn to make it at home. My friend had the Santorini Mule and also really liked it; just the right amount of smokey Mezcal-ness. We then ordered the Zucchini Pancakes (my favorite thing) and the Spanakopita (flaky and delicious). Honestly, we probably could have stopped eating at that point. For the two of us, it was a lot of food. But we still ordered some entrees because, “when in Athens” :)
I went for the traditional Moussaka which is like lasagna; but it’s eggplant and potatoes and cheese and ground beef and tomatoes and bechamel sauce. It was really good and so filling… but also pretty much lasagna. My friend had the salad and she said it was delish. We both got to-go boxes.
Lastly, the service was spot on. From the moment I sat down, our server was attentive and on top of things, even given how busy it was inside the restaurant. We were at a small table for 2 and with the amount of food we ordered, the staff was really good about clearing our table of things that didn’t need to be there so it didn’t feel too cluttered. The kitchen was a little slow as the entrees took a while to come out (maybe 20 minutes after we ordered them) but our server gave us regular updates and checked in. Luckily we weren’t in a rush.
Overall, the Greek food and fun cocktails tasted unique and were really good but definitely not cheap. We had a server who never had us waiting (except when waiting on entrees, which isn’t on our server) and she made our first time at this restaurant very welcoming. My only complaint is the loudness. If you want to go to a restaurant to eat good food and have a conversation, that could be a challenge. Lots of birthdays, lots of yelling. Now if you want to go to a hip and trendy place to eat good food but don’t want to hear your company… go here. I’d probably go back, but may try sitting on the gorgeous patio next time and see if the volume is more agreeable.
Best Greek food in Austin!! It’s owned by a local Greek family and the passion for what they do shows in the food, cocktails, atmosphere and service. I love anything from their raw bar, the marouli salad and the eggplant salad, the chicken souvlaki. The whole fish with a side of lemon potatoes is simple and fresh, one of my favorite dishes! They have some wonderful Greek wines on their wine list as well. Overall great vibes and one of my favorite neighborhood spots!
