Really great “hole in the wall” sushi and Japanese restaurant. We ate here on a Saturday night before the place gets super packed. I’ve heard after 11PM or so, this place gets bumpin’. I loved their menu - the prices are great and you can get small, shared bites and try a bit of everything. We tried a couple of sushi rolls, the hamachi, a steamed pork belly bun, the pork belly dish, a couple of skewers. We also had a drink each. Our entire meal was around $100 (with tip), and we left full and happy! I would definitely be back!
Always good food - the grilled Squid takes a bit longer than the other food to come out but it's worth it. I like that I can order a small version of their Ramen, this is my first time getting their Ramen and it was good! Spicy chili tonkatsu Ramen was delightful. The cream soda is melon soda plus vanilla ice cream which is awesome. Love it ????
So much good packed in to an unassuming strip mall. Oh and they’re open until 2a!
To call Yama Sushi a dive is not accurate although it may feel like one. This is the real deal with no frills or fancy decor just excellent food and super service.
I was skeptical when walking up but when the doors opened I knew I was in for a treat. Somehow it was Happy Hour but then again maybe every hour is happy here. We ordered a pitcher of beer and sake along with the Pork Belly $3, Spicy Edamame $6, and Spicy Cucumber $5 while we mapped out our culinary adventure. Some Shrimp Tempura $10.50, a 5 Treasure roll $17, Sashimi 7 $60, and a couple more rolls along with more beer and we were pleasantly full. The presentation was good and the fish was great.
I’m impressed and am looking forward to my next visit.
What is this sushi for ants? The happy hour fish is so thin and the rice doesn't stick. The photo doesn't do it justice. It is tiny and the quality is not good. When you factor in how small the fish is, it is probably the same price as a higher quality place. I wouldn't go back even if the happy hour was 50 cent pieces. The quality is just not there.
Great place for late night sushi! Food was excellent- sushi fresh and pork belly, large plates and soup did not disappoint! Smaller atmosphere so good for 4-6 friends late night, but not always a large group; great place to eat after 10 pm!
For anyone that is from Dallas they know this is the spot, it stays open till 2am most of the nights which being in the service industry is a blessing. The sushi at Yama is beyond exceptional and the feel of being in a little hole in the wall just makes it so much better in my opinion the prices are fair for what you pay for and the service isn't the best but the food is well worth it so I recommend anyone who loves sushi and little hole in the wall to check this spot out ???????? (the photo I took are from take out)
Mai hopefully I spelled that right. Definitely being a Stan or fan of the service did a great job. Will be back and asking for service again. Appreciate everything.
The vibe and food here is off the charts. It looks so hidden and closed off, but when you walk it it’s so cute and relaxing and then their back section is so colorful and full of anime posters. I had the US Waygu Bun (best $6 dollars spent) and the Sundae and Crunchy Spicy Tuna roll. All of it was so delicious it was insane. I will definitely be recommending and returning here soon.
