Best WLM Reviews
This place was awful and there are better ramen spots within walking distance. Not sure why the reviews are so high here. Service was subpar. This experience was a waste of time and calories.
- The goyza was falling apart.
- Ordered two bowls of ramen and the broth was very weak -- no flavor. Seems like they diluted the broth or something.
- They served overcooked soy sauce eggs / tea eggs but it tasted like a regular hard boiled egg. They didn't bother with the marinating process.
- The pork was overcooked and dry.
- Cabbage was a bit rancid and they gave me the ends of the cabbage head. I'm all for reducing food waste but not onboard with rancid veggies.
- The bamboo was probably sourced from a supplier and not made in house. It was way too sweet.
I first came here back in 2019 during a game meet-up. I've been coming there every chance I could ever since.
It's a fantastic eatery with a very lovely, welcoming atmosphere, appearance, highly professional staff, and most of all, amazing food!
Every time I go, the Yama Beef Bowl is my go-to main dish! A deep bowl filled with well seasoned kimchi, cabbage, caramelized onions, and juicy beef over rice is to die for!
And that poached egg... it shouldn't be my favorite part of the dish, but eating through the veggies enough to split the egg and watching the yolk spread onto the rice and beef to make something even more mouth-watering...
You'd be surprised how many Japanese restaurants don't have Donburi dishes as part of their menu, so I'm really grateful for this place.
I really would love to try the sake someday, but I'm too mindful of the fact that I have to take the train back.
AMAZING….for a tiny place right in the heart of Rockefeller Center, this is what eating in New York City is all about….the street vendors and chains give the area a bad rap food wise with it just being an eat and go feel area, and not somewhere that wows you and makes you want to come back…
Their ramen bowls are good, but their signature rolls are what makes it great….The Midtown Roll and Monster Lobster Roll are a must get
For a tiny area for seating, it’s gives a nice arm feel that space isn’t an issue
And the staff were all great

This is our go to place when we visit NYC. It is small and quaint - that’s the best part about it. You get this feeling that you’re eating amongst close family. We recommend this to friends and family on their visits.
We had not been back since the COVID pandemic and would check in to make sure they were still open knowing we’d return one day.
We’re finally came back this week. We were not disappointed. This is still a wonderful place to come in and dine. The atmosphere is warm, relaxing, and inviting. The service is excellent and the food is an experience.
I’ll miss you Yama Ramen. Can’t wait to come back.
This was a great pick for us! The staff were attentive, the food was authentic and extremely flavorful. There were 4 of us in our party and we all agreed that we completely enjoyed our meal. There are steep stairs up to the restaurant. It's a large space and decorated well - It's very pleasant inside. The seats don't have backs to them (for those that hold preference/need that). There is a coat check area. Overall a great little hole in the wall!
definitely good place to eat after walking around Rockefeller Plaza but the food is not great but eatable it can be a little expensive but overall place to share with friends.
The worst ramen I’ve ever had, the soup was absolutely tasteless and just luke warm. Pork was ok but noodle was a bit soggy, even instant noodles taste better !!!!
Ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the chicken katsu curry. The ramen came as a generous portion and the pork was fatty and flavorful. Good textured noodles and the garlic chili oil on the table was a great addition for spice and flavor. The curry was delicious as well with a generous portion of katsu. The stairway up to the restaurant is a bit precarious but staff is attentive and interior is decorated interestingly. Overall good experience here!
